Thanks for stepping up, swirler!
We haven't gotten any input from DAZ people yet...
Dear DAZ Peoplez,
I would truly be interested in your thoughts on this... pro or con, even if you, yourself, are not involved in this particular area of the DAZ organization. My thoughts are that it would be good for all... DAZ & customers... I believe it would generate additional sales dollars for DAZ and would raise customer satisfaction, (even higher than it is now!)... AND... should be reasonably easy for your website programmers to implement. As I've stated before... it won't be the end of the world if this doesn't happen and I DO think that DAZ already has one of the best laid out sites I've see in the online 3D world, but this would be kinda like the sprinkles on the doughnut.
Thanks,
Customer Person

As a US soldier, I don't really get paid much. I have very few things I really like to do, so it isn't really that big an issue most of the time. However, I do like to play with DAZ Studio, and I am starting to enjoy it. I would like to buy some more stuff to add to my collection, and to allow me to render specific scenes, however I have a fairly tight budget, and cannot really buy stuff like this on a random basis without thinking about it, and planning for it.
HOWEVER!!!! If I where to get an email saying that particular wish item had gone on sale, this moments before I went to the store and bought a PS3 game I had been saving up for, I would probably buy it just because I could.
I think it would also be helpful if when surfing and browsing the catalog, it would tell you if the item you are looking at is part of a bundle. Say you where looking at Michael 4 Morphs++, just as an example. On the right where it lists required products, why could you not have a Part of section, that only shows up if the item is actually a part of some bundle or other item? That way, someone new like myself keeps seeing something like Michael 4 Morphs++ needed, or a item that says it makes full use of the Morphs++ add ons, would think.... Hmmm... I can buy the Michael Pro Bundle, it has the Morphs ++ I want, and then some!!!
Just an idea to add to the hat.
Ohh, and if I wasn't clear, I support the wish-list email notification.

Not trying to get off topic, but..........Oooohhh I so wish bundle were listed separate. I buy a bundle and then find something I like. Then I think "that is cute" but, was that in a bundle. Then I spend so much time trying to figure out if I have it from a bundle, I am too tired to fight with myself if I really want to spend money on it!
Edit: its not that big of a deal to look if the bundle is still around. All though, a lot of bundle I have bought, are not even listed anymore. |
I grab a copy of the promo page when I buy something, and put it in the item folder. If it's a bundle I grab the pages for the individual items also. Very easy with Metaproducts Inquiry, it can save the page in several different formats. I use Windows Help (chm), with that you can put multiple pages in one file. Here's a sample:

There's also the Content Database which can automatically retrieve all the data from your DAZ account. I'm using it myself. You can search for names and filenames and check if you already have the item. Doesn't work always though since names and filenames in bundles are sometimes different from those of the single items.

Thanks for the advice, I do that now. In the beginning, well, I didn't know much, and I didn't do it, and a lot of the info is missing now. But, at least I have learned from it LOL

| Actually, if you really want to get the ball moving, you make a bug report on the website as a request and link from your sig. DAZ staff can't moniter the forums very well, so they might not see it. Whereas if it's in the bugtracker, it's official. |
Okay, is that suggestion that someone should do so, or have you done this?
Oh, and yes, having sales notification would be of great help. I try and trawl through my wishlist periodically to check, but an automatic notification would be much better.

Adding my name to the list. Rendo makes money off me by letting me know something I want is temporarily on sale, so why can't DAZ? (Of course, since DAZ seems to have sales on a daily basis, maybe they're afraid of using all their bandwidth on sale notifications... )

Yokasobi: Oh... So THAT's what a signature thingy is. ::giggleblushes:: Ah. KK. Gotcha. I'm more of a 'main message reader' than I am a signature thingy reader. :lol
I'm with cypherwulfe on the fixed/limited income thing. cyper's with the military, I'm on SSD. Either way, there always seems to be too much month left over at the end of the money.
::waves hankie:: Yoo Hoo! Daz! What's your thought on this? I know I said it before and all, but I think it bears repeating. Why NOT an automatic e-mail notification when an item in our wishlist goes on sale. I know I use it for when I see things I truly want but simply don't have the money for at the moment of spotting the item or items.

Man would that be nice. Especially since as of right now my wishlist is well over $3500 worth of items. A lot of them have been on sale before either before I joined or I wasn't paying attention and missed the sale. Heck, several have been freebies and I missed it. Getting emails would be so nice (especially since they go to my phone also) when a wishlist item is on sale.

Yo...the rodent wants......IN!!!! (and your signature thingy works, or I probably wouldn't have seen this thread, lol)
Forget managing content - my Wishlist is what really needs help !!! Notification from DAZ would probably get me spending even more money - and I love that Rendo does it....along with being notified that your favorite venders/artists have just uploaded a new product/render - that would be nice too!

Yes... I agree! Having "favorite vendor new product" notification would also be a win/win situation... the customer gets notification when one of their favorite vendors puts out a new product... AND... DAZ gets more possible sales. Of course... no matter how good something is, you can always think of something that will make it better, we could probably come up a couple dozen just off the top of our heads... but I would settle for the wishlist notification for now... winning the war, one battle at a time!

... and wouldn't it be lovely to get those new product notifications in order to take advantage of "intro pricing"? Sometimes things go into the store at a reduced rate and NEVER GO ON SALE AGAIN once the "intro" price is gone!
