Using Puppteer, I'd like to create a sequence where a figure walks a few steps, then waves while walking. I'd like to do this by creating a single walk-cycle and causing it to repeat. However, at the moment the walk-cycle halts after only one cycle - the figure stands still, and then waves.

How do I make a Puppeteer animation layer repeat in the final animation?

Hopefully I've just missed something simple.

If you have Daz Studio Advanced, aniMate or aniMate+, then you can create an aniBlock of your animation.

View Menu > Tabs > aniMate Lite and right click above the timeline and choose Create aniBlock from Studio Keyframes. This will create the aniBlock on the aniTimeline. You can then right click the block, and copy and paste along the timeline.

If you don't have Daz Studio Advanced, then you can do it using Poser Format Exporter, available free here:

You would set up your walk cycle, then use the Poser Format Exporter script to export an animated range into a pz2 file. Take a note of how many frames the animation is. Then go to that frame number, and drag the pz2 file onto the figure, then add the number of frames on, and at that frame number, drag the pz2 file on again.

Of course the aniBlock route is much easier.

A third option is to record your Puppeteer walk cycle for as many cycles as you need. This would have the benefit that each cycle would differ slightly.

Thanks very much Caroline. I'm using Daz Free, so I'll take a look at the later options you described.
