BLACKSMITH3D-PAINT v3.3

"Blacksmith 3D-Paint was very simple and intuitive... One of the impressive tools added to version 3.2 is the Clone Brush, which, for Published Artists can be especially important, makes seams a thing of the past."

I've had this for a while now and really love it! Great for painting over seams..and the clone brush is terrific, although I think it's been there for a while...

It looks really nice... kind of reminds me of my PaintShop Pro 8 in 3D. But after watching some of the YouTube videos... it occurs to me that you would need a source of very high res, high quality images of someone from every angle to do the clone image to model example. How would you go about getting those unless you paid for some photo shoots? I've never found any inexpensive source for those type of things.

How could this be used for clothing textures? Would it be possible?

Thanks

IMPORTANT, Will we get the a free update to V4 when it is released later this year?

Totally possible for clothing. Just import the .obj or the .cr2 and your texture map. I use it sometimes to fix seams.

Note it's Canadian $ - about US$ 0,93 worth. Which means The Suite is about US $140, purchased from blacksmith3d.

Hello Folks,

Just purchased this and when I try to register it, it keeps asking for the location of a .dat file.
Has any one managed to register it using the issued serial key if so please tell me how!

Many thanks.

I think you may need to go to the www.blacksmith3d.com web site and register there, enter your serial number and download the .dat file. Then put the .dat file in the same folder as the program (so you don't lose it) and then point the program at it when it asks for it...

after registration i could get a file to download, after click the link it said...

The purchase code entered is invalid.

Please verify that you included the entire code and please try again. If the problem persists, please contact the vendor and/or Blacksmith3D with your purchase details and we'll get you the registration code ASAP.

Ok,

've found the problem!

you'll have to register at http://www.blacksmith3d.com/
fill in there the code (you 've got from daz here)
then you can download the suite there!

& you can download the DAT file also there, don't left click on the link!
else you see you're number with some strange symbols!
just right click this link & it would save to a *.dat file!
put that file in the data folder of you're blacksmith program folder!
open the black paint program & click register & point it to the black paint file!
as it asks!

it will only register the paint program of the suite!

Hello Folks,

Got there myself in the end.

Problem being I was using Mozilla Firefox and it was screwing it up.
Soon as I tried Internet Explorer 8 I got a .dat file from the registration site.

So if your having issues Registering try using Internet Explorer instead.

Kind regards,

Nope. Blacksmith3D website says
Quote:
The current sale price of v3.3 plus the upgrade price for v4.0 will be less than or equal to the new price of v4.0, so there is no reason to wait.

Btw.. the 3.3 update is free for all 3.x users and mainly brings preformance improvements, not new features.

See http://www.blacksmith3d.com/newsletter-2009-09-15.php for more information.
