I was wondering if anyone here had experienced problems with Firefox today? I tried to open it this afternoon (Australian time) and although the little hourglass came up, it then vanished after a few seconds but Firefox wouldn't start. I tried all sorts of things, rebooting etc etc and eventually rang our daughter to see if was working for her and she couldn't get it to start either. Needless to say we both use Firefox rather than IE. However she was in the middle of doing something else on her computer so I suppose it's possible that whatever it was wouldn't let Firefox start - although I've never heard of such a thing.
Anyway, is it just me - or does anyone know if there is a problem with Firefox today?

Don't know how to delete the above post - anyway, problem solved.
The problem was with an update so far as I can tell as one had just come through, but I suspect it didn't install properly. Anyway I disabled the extensions and everything back to normal once more.

This is going to sound really sick, but I get an evil kick whenever I see my female peasants struggling with their software or anything computer related. I don't know why I do - I just do.
Of course, I'm always pleased when you sort it out - but not until you've had to struggle a bit first

This is going to sound really sick, but I get an evil kick whenever I see people having problems with Firefox or Macs, or Mercedes, or children. All things that are highly praised but that I don't have or miss.

Yeah, I can totally relate to that
Well - the Mac thing anyway. I've often wondered how intelligent folk are who buy Apple products. Nice hardware, sure, but I think that's only so that you'll forgive them for their invasiveness.
My sister, despite all the advice her dear brother gave her, went against my better judgement and bought an iPod 3G. I refused to help her set it up and sat their laughing at her while she was put through the 'Apple' initiation stage (she managed to get some music onto it after about half an hour - and even then she was forced to use iTunes).
Effin' ridiculous
I told her to buy a Sony, but would she listen? - nope!
Pssst, I hope Bjorn doesn't see that comment. I had a lot of fun with him thinking I'm a devoted Samsung fanboy.
It might come as quite a shock to him that I'm actually a Sony fanboy as well

But it will never come as a surprise that you are a Horo fanboy.

Surprised that you are on the wrong side of technology? Um, nope. The only surprise was you picked Sony instead of some less useful thing like Creative Labs's mp3 player.
Apple programmers are with out a doubt the very worst in the history of programming. With a special mention for their extra crappy User Experience.
Nothing you have ever used with prepare you for the CRAP that is iTunes.
However, as bad as their programmers are, that is how good their small device ergonomics engineering dept is. The except for the stuff you install on your computer, the IPod is with out a doubt the best mp3 player.
The walkman had its day. But they blew it. They sat on their laurels and did not improve the operations in close to a decade. They are now consigned to the dustbin of history.

That's very true, I'm a fanboy of the Horo Corporation of Switzerland. They design all these kick-ass electronics products but never see to get them onto the market. I check their website often but still no progress. They claim it's because they are perfecting things before they release them.
Incredible attention to detail, the Horo Corporation

Since when has the Walkman name been consigned to history?
Times change, we now have Walkman phones and MP3 players instead - peasant!
And anyway Bjorn, don't mess with me, I'm an idiot - all Sony fanboys are idiots according to some people. And, we can be aggressive as well - I mean like really aggressive if you don't agree with us! We are mentally unstable and insane so watch what you say. Sony fanboys are rightly part of a cult that understands why the vast majority of the worlds footage is shot and broadcast on Sony cameras and broadcasting equipment.
I even read that if you're responsible for kitting out the video department of any serious broadcaster, you'd be sacked on the spot if you bought anything other than Sony.
So really, really don't talk crap
Your InBox might get bombarded by Sony fanboys if you do (just ask this guy):

Yeah, you're only saying that because you're an Apple user
I do agree though; funny video. In fact it's one of the best videos I've seen on YouTube. I think his issue isn't really against Sony though, it's more against it's fanboys jumping to conclusions.
But just so you know, Michele, it wasn't me, I didn't send him any messages - I'm a good boy.
No, it was those other Sony fanboys

Well, that stretches the words good and boy a bit, don't you think?
I don't have problems with firefox; browser hijackers, spy/mall ware, malicious scripts, or viruses either

Hah, that figures!! However I'm darned if I know why men assume that women are technologically challenged when it comes to computer hardware or software - not true!!!! (well in my case with the exception of Bryce. ) In our house I'm the one who fixes everything on the computer, not my husband but like most women I find that when I go into a shop to buy a new video card, ram, HDD etc etc, some silly male assistant will generally say "oh just bring the computer in here dear and we'll install it for you!! - yeah, and that'll be the day (and I must say that I loath being called "dear" or "love" like that, silly old-fashioned male chauvinistic creatures! ). Anyway, here endeth my rant for the day!

Ok, since Len posted such a funny video, I thought I would post a link to a really really funny one over at Deviant Art. Enjoy!

ehehe, good one. The best part is it is one direction. Even a spread sheet lets you add stuff in on your desktop and later edit it on your laptop.
still the doohickies are cool once you look at only them and not the software.
