First let me say to DAZ...Thank You!!!

I bought the Bryce plug in and installed it (no probs)then discovered I needed the latest D|S ver. 09.2 which again I d/led and installed. (No probs).

I fiddled with a quick Freak scene I opened in D|S and a few props, put a mat texture with transparencies on him, exported all objects at once to a temp folder, opened bryce, imported the file I exported from D|S and great Googlely moogely rendered that puppy with, again, (NO PROBS). Smooth as an androids butt.

I need to re-read my Bryce manual, since it's been so long but all in all the render turned out ok a little muddy texture wise but impressive on how easy it was to import; dang fine job DAZ.

Just on a whim since Maya handles Obj. format as a native.

I popped the same Freak file D|S popped out and yes indeed it also imported without one grip or snivel into Maya 4, but of course geometry only without textures/shaders, those are in another folder that D|S created. I'll mess with those later.

Just wanted to let you Daz consumers know that it is a great time/effort saver.

Now I can play with Bryce again, don't know if that is a good thing, since I'm already pressed for time.

But yippee anyway.

Regards,
JimG

I didn't try hair on the Freak and I understand the plugin does not do transparencies.

Actually, it does, or at least it does most of the time for me.

It does do transparencies, but there seems to be some setting that is different sometimes that doesn't transfer correctly. But it doesn't happen very often. DAZ does know about it though.

I stand corrected.

Sorry about that, I was trying to get across how easy it was to import into Bryce using the new plug-in now, guess I failed.

So I'll shut up and let better informed folks inform the public Embarassed

Thanks for the corrections, now I'm even happier!

it works and it's a real improvement!

Here's my first test render with the new plug-in, I only had to shift down the corneas a very little bit. And got anybody a suggestion how to get rid of the black verge in the face? It didn't neither appear in Poser nor in DAZ Studio.

Yoro, at first glance, that looks like the edge of the transparency map on the hair needs to be extended on the original transmap.
