| Hey, I never said add NLE to Carrara, at least I don't think I did. I said that the audio track should output in more than just Quicktime format, specifically it should be output in avi as well as quicktime. The tools in Carrara that already exist are more than enough to handle placing the audio. Further I believe that sound that is included in either a pz2 or a pz3 should import as well as the rest of those files. Specifically this would benefit Mimic and PoserSpeak users. I agree that NLE has no real place in Carrara. |
Noted - I think we eventually agreed that the sound could be improved (and I would also like to see more output format options for both sound and video in C6).
Anyway, right now, I need to be very, very nice to you and Pneuma. I'm going to need help troubleshooting network rendering when I get back next week, and I've got the two of you pegged as experts

As far as I know they still got an hour to post the new feature. I think it's close to 11PM in Utah.

Still keeping up my unreasonable hope that the next message from daz is only one hour away ... and that it tells us C6 is online right after the sale for C5 ended.

Carrara 6 is coming soon with great new features. Now that we've shown off the product at Siggraph and received an enthusiastic response, we will continue to Sneak Peek the features until the product's official release (to be announced). During regular business days, we'll continue to whet your appetites with some of the key features and more sample renders and animations of features already peeked at. So be sure to continue getting other Carrara users (and others like dedicated DAZ Studio or Poser users) active in viewing this forum often.
Sneak peek - Item 13: EULER ANGLES FOR ROTATIONS
Until now, Carrara only supported Quaternion interpolation for rotation. While this is often the best solution to interpolate rotation, it is not the most convenient to edit in a graph editor since you cannot edit the three rotation angles independently. A new mode of interpolation called 'Euler angles' was added to give even more control when doing character animation.

Another example of landscapes and dynamic hair - you can almost smell the flowers

Don't forget, if you get Carrara 5 while it's on sale, you'll get Carrara 6 for free!
Stay tuned for future postings about more great new features in Carrara 6.

Yeah, I think the previous posters are right: DAZ has technical problems with C6 and is scratching the bottom of the bucket to find something they can sell us as a wonderful improvement and new feature, while they have to delay the release.
You see: one screenshot of Euler-Angles (not very impressive, indeed), so they put up a nice picture of trees, grass and flowers (what the hell does this have to do with todays feature "Euler-Angles"?
By the way: What sense does it make to mention "Get C5 while its on sale" the minute the sale ended?

@betterthanlife
My apologies. Wasn't really clear was I? I am no specialist or guru in the 3D field, just a simple hobbyist consumer with a tight budget. I don't really care how the software works on the inside... I only care if it does what I want or not. ^_^" Yeah, I know, sounds bad.
I have used Poser (and not much else) for about 5 years or so.
Since P5, I tend to heavily rely on dynamic clothing, Wyrmmasters deformer sets and P5/6/7 shaders/advanced materials instead of textures (or enhancing them like FaceOffs RealSkin Shaders).
The FAQ states dynamic clothing will be late ... errr.. I mean "soon".
Supposedly, Wyrmmasters deformers are as of yet not confirmed to work.
And there's no mention of P5/6/7 shader/advMAT support I could find.
That's basically the reason why I am only mildly interested at this point and not drooling over my keyboard. Some of the sneeeeek peeeeks like kind of nice, but aren't enough on their own to make me go bonkers.
My apologies again. I do not intend to offend anybody or diss C6 or something. I just am not as knowledgable as most others here and tend to be lazy. ^_^"

I think they put up another render because people were looking for more renders from "Sneak peek - Item 12's Landscape Wizard".
I could be wrong because reading this thread is like reading a novel and we're all on page 110 now LOL.

Seems you are right, they messed it up. So we all can get used to the thought, that there will be no C6 in August.
I just wonder what other great novelties like "Euler-Angles" they will scratch out of their empty bucket to come up with a new sneak peek every day until September. I mean, this are at least 17 more days. I wonder when they will bring "Sneak Peek No.17: New desktop logo"!

The only relavent article I can find is:

Which has a worrying statement

My conclusion is we need a video demo of this function

Rats, I'll be on vacation from the 1st of September. I was so sure, that I would have C6 Pro until then. Every release date after that is useless for me, because in my vacation I have no internet access to download C6 on my laptop. It's a crying shame.

Over the last couple of years I have seen changes in the DAZ marketing, and not for the better. Each new promo seems to have a flaw somewhere, and the products are getting less inviting, and in some cases less in quality.
Example did we really need anymore Fairy Wings? (not a pop at the creater btw). I have come to realise that the 3d community is very close knit, and is not like any other consumer base I know.
My point, bearing this in mind along with the loyalty this site has, do you not think it would be prudent to tell if there is a problem with the launch of C6, if there is not problem then give these good people a date to look forward too.
Remember these people put food in your belly and a roof over your head...

I guess it will be soon enough if I visit this thread in ... let's say, two weeks. I'd really wonder if something important was announced until then.

Hey, I have a really wacky idea. Let's wait until we know something before we leap down DAZ's throat and assume the worst.
Just a thought...

Of course, and the meaning is crystal clear: It would make no sense for DAZ to sell C5 with an upgrade option to C6, if C6 was available. Looks like serious problems, if they calculate at least two more weeks to fix them...
