DAZ Brokered Artist

PostPosted:Fri Nov 06, 2009 10:48 am Report Post to ModeratorsReply with quoteBack to top

We are thrilled to announce some exciting new improvements in the way we keep you informed of new releases, promotions, and other events. We have added a new section to your <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/i/account/0?_m=d">Account Tools </a>called "<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/i/account/alertsnews?_m=d">Alerts and Newsletter </a>Subscriptions". This new feature allows you (our wonderful customers) to receive either instant or daily notifications for New Releases, FastGRAB offers, the latest news and promotions, as well as notify you whenever one of your favorite Published Artists releases a new product. These alerts will make sure that you'll always be the first to know when something new and amazing is happening at DAZ 3D. Our hope is that this new system will provide more flexibility in what and how you receive updates from DAZ 3D and that the added control will be seen as a boon for all our users.

You may be asking, "How can I get in on the action?!" It's easy! Log into your DAZ 3D <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/i/account/0?_m=d">account </a>and under the "Account Tools" drop down menu choose the "<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/i/account/alertsnews?_m=d">Alerts and Newsletters</a>" option. This will open your Alerts and Newsletter Subscription page. Here you can customize the specific information you would like to receive.

Do you want to know about a New Release the minute it gets released into the store? Choose the "Instant Alert" option for "New Product Releases." When you do this, you'll see a green check mark confirming your choice and letting you know that the setting has been saved. Would you rather have a single daily notification that includes all of that day's new releases? If so, simply select the "Daily Digest" option and you're all set. Note: if you select Daily Digest for FastGRAB, you may receive notifications after a FastGRAB has already expired, since these are very time sensitive.

Many of you have been asking for a way to follow the releases of your favorite Published Artists so you'll never miss out on being the first to get their great new product. To do this, first chose how you would like to receive your "Artist Alerts," again by choosing between either the "Instant Alert" or "Daily Digest" options. And again, a green check mark will appear as if to say "Well done, old friend. You've made the right choice." Then, subscribe to your favorite artist by navigating to their store/category by clicking on their artist name from any of their product pages. See screenshot below to get an idea of what to look for:

Image

On this store/category page, to the right of the artist's name you will see a link titled "Subscribe to this Artist." Click on this link and they will be added to your subscription list and you will begin receiving notifications when they release their next product.

It probably goes without saying that during this month of huge Published Artist sales it's a killer time to take advantage of this new subscription feature (read more about this promotion in this topic: Annual Published Artist Sale 2009).

Be sure to also subscribe to the "Current News and Alerts" so those great deals don't pass you by, which is a rather important feature considering that we're already underway with our Annual Published Artist Sale promotion, and we know you won't want to miss any of those special one-day only sales and offers - not to mention any other crazy things we might throw in just to see if you're paying attention...

We plan to have this new alert system replace our current Friday "weekly round-up" newsletters, so you may notice some additional tweaks to both the Friday newsletter and our new system as we make the transition and incorporate in your feedback. Of course, we will do our best to keep you informed of any important changes in either the newsletter or the alerts.

Thanks and Enjoy!

Thanks! This sounds good but I think I'll start with it next year or so.... because it will be better for my budget to stay away the rest of this year. Laughing
Oooh, what the heck... I'm off now to my account and see if it's really as easy as it looks.

Love, Jeanne
edited to add: Yes, it's as easy! Very Happy
Question: How many artists can we add?

This weekend, I would suggest putting your new feed on instant alert, as I hear some PA stores will be going on sale with the first announcements going out over this alert feed...

Much as I like this idea, I hope it's not going to end up being one of those things where an alert is sent out and you only have so much time to respond or you miss the 'special' pricing on an item. Not everyone can just sit and wait for instant alerts all day every day.

Also, it would be more convenient to add vendors to your watch list if you had a system where you could see a list of all vendors. It's very cumbersome to have to hunt for people the way it's set up now since there's no easy way to access all vendor names at once.

A nice option would be to have a page setup with columns that contain the vendor names, 'subscribe', 'unsubscribe', and a box to check or radio button to tick. That way it's all on one page, and the customers aren't having to do so much of the footwork.

Just my 2 cents FWIW.

Thank you! I much appreciated this new feature. The instant alerts are working well for me. I hope, I now receive the DAZ Software Newsletter (DAZ Source), if there is any, as I had subscribed to that quite long.

Please can you now also add an alert, when an product on the Wishlist goes on sale.

Please can you link the name of the artist to their page, instead of deleting them from the list. That would give us an favorite list from which we can jump quickly to their stores and buy their goodies. In my opinion the red X will be enough, to delete an artist from the list.

FastGRAB would be the only thing that is really time sensitive.

And, your suggestion for adding vendors through a list on that same page is already in the works. Once that is fully ready, we'll roll it out to you. For now, you'll have to add it through the artist's category as has been described.

absolutely brilliant! thank you thank you!!!

And just curious...do the PA's receive notifications that they have been added as a favourite vendor? A note on their vendor page (if you guys have something like that) or something? Not specifically by one of us, but something like "you have been added as a favourite"?

Hmm. Good question. I'm not sure, but I'll pass the suggestion on to those doing the coding.

A very nice idea, but how well will it work in practice, with hundreds ^h thousands ^h lots of us forum regulars all busily getting alerts? I don't have to wait for my newsletters until the day before the next one's due out any more, but I do still get them a bit delayed more often than not. I hope the liquid helium cooling systems are in place in the DAZ mail servers... Wink

I only asked cos I know when I get the notification from "another store" (LOL) that I've been added as a 'favourite vendor'...i get such a kick from it.

Yes, I am very easily excited.

Question for you Kevin. I have the Firefox plugin RSS Ticker, and that's where I have FastGRAB set up. Will theses alerts show up there? How would I set it up to get them to show up in the RSS Ticker? Will that information be on My Account page?

OK, that's several questions. Wink

Edited to add: Never mind . . . just checked and figured it all out! Mr. Green

Some great new additions to the DAZ shopping experience.

Is there a way to get a list of all the PAs. If there was a single jumping off point, it would make it much easier to find all the PAs I’m interested in and subscribe.

We do not have that feature YET... But it is a planned update for this notification system.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Kyle and Kevin!

Now DAZ' website is better in most aspects than its competitions' websites.

I'll definitely favorite some PAs. Wink
