In the Anagenssis II thread you showcased some images with that shader applied. Will Mace have Presets to apply the Anagenessis shader(s)? I'm waiting for it to be released :)

Yes, he will. He's got three sets of shaders. The 3Delight, normal Iray, and then the Anagenesis. the Anagenesis doesn't have shaders for the gens, or the eyes. The eye shaders in the Anagenesis folder are normal Iray shaders. I kept getting an error message I couldn't track down on the eye shaders, so those had to be eliminated. Both the 3Delight and Iray shaders have full shader sets for the character, though, so I figure that wasn't too bad a trade off. Then there are the LIE overlays for the arms and chest.

Thanks for the feedback! One last question: does the Anagenesis manual apply method work on the gens? It won't stop me from getting Mace if it doesn't smiley

No. They don't. That's why I mentioned there are no Anagenesis shaders for the gens. I could not get the prop shader to match the skin tone, no matter what I did. So the only shader for the gens are in 3Delight and Iray. I spent hours trying to get it to work. Finally just gave up.

I thought I should clarify this answer...

The manual method works on the gens, however, trying to get it to match the skin shader is nothing short of a lesson in frustration. I tried for two days and at least 10 hours of those two days doing nothing but trying to get the skin tones matched. I even tried making them their own diffuse map in the hopes that I could match them up. The problem is that you can't get an exact match to the skin once the shaders are applied, so there is always a seam running around the entire geograft, which is a big fail. After two days, I shut it down. I was already past the point of diminished returns and just wallowing in pure stubbornness. :)

  • He looks fabulous.  Super work :)

  • A friend of mine found a workaround for the gens:

    1) Do all the normal stuff to get your figure and genitals into the scene, with the correct mats applied to both.
    2) Run NGS A2 on the main figure. Make any alterations required at this point to get the look you want.
    3) Apply the NGS A2 manual process to the gens. This is where the mis-match occurs if you've changed any settings on the skin.
    4) Select your figure, select the torso (or any skin part) in Surfaces and copy it.
    5) Select the gens, select the surfaces and paste it in. This will give you the correct settings but wrong texture.
    6) Manually go through the gens dials for each surface and swap all the (wrong) torso textures, back to the correct gens texture which should already be in the list.
    7) Job done.

I'm looking forward to try that on Mace!

I tried that...that's one of the first things I did, because it makes sense that same settings+same skin=same results, but it didn't see it that way. So from there, I tried manually setting all fields, then adjusting the transmitted and other various colors, which is when I gave that up and tried making new maps for the NGS shaders. That was crazy difficult, but I came closer there than I had with the other methods. Just not DAZ good enough. Which is when I quit before I started damaging the room around me. :)

Someone said in the NGS thread that it made it hard for the gens, especially for dark skinned characters. And I'd have to agree...I'm pretty sure I could pull it off with Ragnar or Sawyer (my new one) but Mace wasn't having any of it... :/

He's looking very good! He reminds me of someone, but I can't place the face yet.

To me he looks a bit like Ricky Whittle from "The 100" and "American Gods".

    Looks good.

If it's any consolation, in actual reality, black men's anatomical elements are often different shades, the organs being darker than the rest of the skin.

Usually not in a semi square block in the center of the groin, though. :D

True. I've never seen that configuration.

I can see why- that's such a fantastic render! What outfit is that? Seems like it was released recently with a zombie bundle but I can't remember which one. Mace looks amazing! Love the tattoos, very different and interesting!

Yeah, that's the Undead Wizard Outfit:

    https://www.daz3d.com/undead-wizard-outfit-for-genesis-3-male-s ;

It was a Vampire bundle it was in for G3 Male. I got it specifically because it would show off Mace's chest.

The design on his chest comes from a sacred geometry glyph. The ones on his arms are just more decorative, though.

Aww, thanks! Yeah, most of the Gypsy Boys are brutally handsome. :D  I have a weakness for pretty men. Someone mentioned to me that while they were definitely easy on the eyes, they all looked different. Without missing a beat I said: "They all had different fathers." She started laughing...

What can I say? They're my Boyz...
