Lady Death Hair

I'm looking for hair that looks as close to Lady Death's hair as possible. The key to Lady Death's hair is the really high arch as it comes out of the forehead. Does anyone know of any hair that does that or comes close to that?

  • sweet love Lady Death, have thought of doing her myself a few times getting her skin tone bit tricky though there was that skin pack awhile ago had one close to her. Did Purgatori once connected to Brian Pulido on facebook the guy behind these characters and he liked it he loves and approves fanart of his characters he also like my tattoo of Smiley The Psychotic Button, another charcter that also be tricky would be Evil Ernie

Yeah, I really like the character. I'm thinking that the hair might be a bit hard to find or may not exist at all, so I might have to learn how to do hair morphs and try and morph a hair style that I already have to try and get it to look like her hair.

  • Diva, im thinking that the hair you are looking for (or similar) may exist (in one form or another) somewhere in the v4, a3, v3 spectrum of hair products. In my experience, which is no where near as vast as some of our more esteemed members, it seems that hair had a more artistic interpretation back in the earlier days of the craft. It was a bit more experimental and not quite as realistic as it leans these days. So maybe you want to search the more established catalogues as opposed to looking for a g2 or g3 solution? Perhaps your solution lies in ps brushes as opposed to models?

Im not certain of any of this, but that would be my guess.

    I could be totally wrong...

I remember a V4 character set that came out for Lady Death, I can't remember what it was called. Once I get off work and back to my room, I can open Poser and look for the character name and post a link for you. I do know it was a set from Rendo but it has been a few years and not sure if it is still being offered

    Will this do?

    image

Goldy Hair @ the other place. There are colors available that make it look less separated.

See, im thinking that StudioArtVartanian is correct. Im testing BeBe hair to see if that might work.

    No luck...

    http://www.daz3d.com/woodland-dream-hair doesn't have a center part, but it's high!

The outfit I was looking for was called Mistress of darkness and was offered at Renderosity for V4. It had the outfit and hair as well as a set of skin shaders. Alass it is no longer offered there.

  • I hope you're able to find a good approximation of Lady Death's hairstyle. It's one of the more iconic fantasy styles out there!

I got Brian Pulido's autograph over a decade ago and got to talk with him for a few minutes. One of the nicer gents I've met in the comic book industry. Evil Ernie and Lady Death were among my favorite characters all those years ago.

The closest in StudioArtV's collection is SAV Semiramis hair... the male version, which is parted down the middle. Apply it twice, once mirrored so that you have the long falls on both sides, hide the top of one of them and it looks pretty close.   Something else to keep in mind is that with a hair shder pack like UHT or OOT's, you can stack several different hairstyles together, hiding the parts you don't want and blending the ones you do.

Thank you for all the suggestions, guys. It's appreciated. I might have to learn how to do some hair mods with Blender or something.

This is REALLY close I think. I wonder if there is a way to get the part to the other side as well. If I could double up on this hair (load two versions) have one swish to the right the other swish to the left this would pretty much nail it, I think. I'm not sure if that's possible though.

You could try scaling it -100% in the x-axis - and use geometry editor to hide each half (allowing a little overlap in the middle)

Ohhh -100% on the x-axis! That's GENIUS! Thank you! :D I don't know how to use the geometry editor though, I'll have to look into that. Thank you for the help, that sounds like it will work! :)

That works great! I tried it with Casino Hair and it gives the look pretty close to what I'm looking for:

It might not be quite there, but it's really close. I'll have to keep an eye out on the Goldy Hair and see if it goes on sale. If not, this Casino Hair might work.

Thank you, Silent Winter! That was a fantastic idea! :)

At another place, "Ali" has several hairs that come pretty close to that. One thing about a lot of his hair products is that they have extra rigging you can use to position some of the major hair groups, making it possible to "pose" them in a style you prefer or even easily hide rigged hair groups. Since they all follow common Poser rigging conventions, they should work fine, in a pinch, in DS. I can't remmeber DS's ability for morphing/sculpting/magnets/etc, but two of his products could very easily be adjusted with a sculpting tool/magnet, if DS has those, to yield exactly the sort of hair features you'd want.

Yes that is what I was looking for, for some reason I couldn't find it on Rendo last night. My Google mojo must be low.

Look at Mankahoo.com - it's the same artist and it's his own store - where prices are lower than at Rero.

    That could work. Thank you!

  • that one carrie58 linked combined maybe jolina hair I posted may work if you look compare them combined at the statue I posted with the different angles

  • how you doing with Lady Death? I think I'll have to do a version sometime soon maybe another Purgatori one too and Vampirella someone did a Vampi recently basicly same as a Joe Jusko painting I have sitting on a skull and a bat flying though I did a version of that too mine I changed the pose a bit and didn't have a bat so added a snake and wolf. Her outfit should be easy to do plenty you can convert, cape though is another thing maybe the superhero cape for g3 though there is a new one coming looks pretty good lots of morphs. Would love to do Evil Ernie but he would be pretty hardmaybe a lot of kitbashing using one of the zombies as a base then there's his best friend Smiley The Pschotic Button

    my tattoo of Smiley
