Tornado of the Four Elements [Commercial]
Just Unleashed! Tornado of the Four Elements
A massive tornado representing the Four Elements: Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Each can be rendered from below as a tornado or above as a vortex. There are two Air Tornadoes - one is very dark and dense, the other is lighter and more translucent. Each has a spinning debris cloud. There are two Earth Tornadoes - one is a giant tropical plant with colorful pistil (seeds), the other is a swirling sand pit. The Fire Tornado projects a fiery pattern from the lights and invisible emissive disk. At its base is a spinning cloud of hot embers. The maelstrom or Water vortex includes a separate foam prop for the inside. Also included is the most powerful force in the universe - a black hole! These props are huge! The base of the tornado is approximately 33 meters wide (the width of the floor grid), the accretion disk (or top edge) is about 550 meters across, and the full height is about 90 meters.
Before I got into 3D I painted in acrylic and my favorite subject matter was maelstroms, storms and tornadoes! So I'm very excited about this release into the 3D world. Feel free to post any questions or renders here. Here is the ReadMe

I love it! Wow, these can be used in so many ways. Living in tornado country, I certainly appreciate it. Love the promos too!
This hit my cart so fast it wasn't even funny lol. This looks amazing! Really excited to see this in shop today.
Picked this up straight away - and I love it!
Been looking for a maelstrom for ages - tried kitbashing something but couldn't get quite what I was after - now this comes along and solves my problem, and adds a lot of other options on top.
Thank you!

Anyone try this in 3DL?
That looks incredible!!!
I didn't even look at all the promo picks before I bought and paid for this, now that I've had the chance to go through them I am even more excited.
I have no idea if it supports 3DL but I'm sure Marshian will be along soon and can answer. I'm at work so can't really test it out til later.
I'm so happy to see the comments and an awesome render here! The majority of this set will work in 3DL with some slight adjustments in textures. The geometry has a pretty detailed sculpt so you shouldn't have to adjust bump or displacement much at all...unless you want that extra detail. The Air Tornadoes have an outer geoshell that would need to be converted to UberVolume. If you have any of my cloud products for 3DL you could either apply a shader included or load the clouds and cut/paste (after converting to DAZ Default surface). For the ocean maelstrom/tornado, I would convert to DAZ default surface then copy/paste textures from my product Ocean Wide (tile it 15x15). If you dont have these products there are probably other shaders that will get you close enough. UberVolume is a DAZ default surface you can find it through a search in Smart Content/Files or your Content Library under Shader Presets/omnifreaker
The fire tornado does not emit light so along with some texture adjustments you'll need to adjust the 8 linear point lights, turn shadows off for speed. There is an invisible light disk that loads with it, I'd probably delete it.
I try support 3DL whenever I can. This set was difficult enough to create just for Iray.
standing by....
May I ask someone to create a movie with that prop. I need to know how it looks like in animation before buying.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi Nold. This is the best I can do with time and resources available. It's a video of a maelstrom sculpture I made. Very similar to this 3d model, you'd just need to rotate it in DS...Or rotate the camera. https://goo.gl/photos/
Nice work Jay, as always.

Thanks so much! It's a beast, glad to let it run free.
I'm astonished to see this, as I was imagining this very concept a few months ago and had no idea how anyone could make it into a viable product. The visuals are just like I was picturing them in my mind! I'll be seeing how this looks with an emissive glow added to the included water effects, since I was imagining it as a prop for creating a ghostly, ethereal effect.
Xenomorphine! Glad this set met up with your imagination. I have a strong attraction for these spinning swirling shapes and there are so many great angles for viewing this prop. It is a fairly high poly model so changing it to an emissive surface may take a little time to show up in the AuxViewport.
A friend just notified me through LinkedIn that it is my 5 year anniversary working with DAZ3D! This Tornado product is very appropriate, my signature piece.
A quickie animation made in iClone 7.
Thanks. Will try to adjust materials. iClone materials differs from the iray ones. I just need to learn more about, how to use it.
Great product. Any chance this could be adapted so that animations would have an actual vortex effect? What the center moved a bit faster and pulls material in from the outer layers? I suppose that would involve some sort of rigging.
Hi, Deke.
I haven't worked with animation much at all but here's my best guess. If it was short, maybe a couple minutes or so, and the vortex moved slowly the twist morph would work along with rotating the whole prop (to a lesser degree). Slow and subtle. I imagine rotating the texture would provide the most movement, it is tiled 1x1 for the water vortex.
what a great set ! thanks !
