As usual.... gorgeous. :)
Thank you! :)
Dang, that looks great.
Dang, there go my good intentions for not overspending this month...
Looks great!
I hope my toaster can handle this. What's the VRAM usage for the first image?
wow, this is gorgeous.
i was reading about Yvoire just last week (and looking at tons and tons of pictures) when i was researching medieval fishing villages. so happy to see it appearing entire here and ready to splash into my runtime.
:)

My credit card is ready and waiting.
Cheers,
Alex.
Very nice! Is it for both 3Delight and Iray, or Iray-only materials? I'm suspecting the latter as your last few sets have been for Iray, but one can always hope!
Thanks everyone! :) About the VRAM usage, I don't know how to check it out. The preload is probably close to 600,000 polys, plus a bunch of textures....
It is Iray only. I have a question to ask about this, and I don't mean this in a bad way, but I see several posts about Iray vs 3delight, what is the problem with Iray that people are reluctant to use it?
My computer doesn't have an Nvidia GPU, so I have to render CPU-only. As you can imagine, with a set as detailed as this or MICK for example, it would take over a day to render.
I render CPU only as well. MICK is really slow to render due to all the emissive lights, but this one renders fairly quick, about half an hour for a full screen render.
That's great! When you add characters, wardrobes, weapons, etc. then that time goes through the roof, right? For example, I've never had a portrait render in half an hour with Iray. This took about 12 hours to get to 5,000 samples, and the skin is not even HD.
I'm saving for a GPU, so eventually I'll upgrade my system and be in render heaven!
Wow, hard to believe the promo images are not photographs taken in a real location. Great renders, and fabulous modelling.
Using enough lighting helps stuff render faster in Iray, with fewer iterations, even with CPU; I do have that saved-up-for GPU now but I was able to get CPU renders in a few hours (or even half an hour) as long as I had enough light.
+1
Render time is a factor, of course. The fact that I have some shaders and lights that I like and for which I don't have an Iray equivalent is another. But the main thing is that I simply like pictures I get from 3delight better than the ones I get from Iray, for me it's way more versatile.
Lovely as usual :)

beautiful
In my case, 3Delight lighting and surfaces are more intuitive for me. Whenever I try Iray, it doesn't come out the way I want, I keep fiddling with it trying to adjust things, and eventually give up and go back to 3Delight.
Interesting, I've always found lighting to be much easier in Iray. I do a lot of DSLR photography which is supposed to help when getting your head around Iray lighting.
Cheers,
Alex.
Beautiful set, once again.
This is stunning, Faveral! Wonderful work!
I started on a really cruddy computer when I first found DAZ and could only do 3delight. The lighting in it definitely reminded me of theater lighting, which I had experience with. Iray does seem a lot more like photography, which I've also done a lot of, but it's definitely a different mindset. That said, I'm now totally spoiled by Iray and have a hard time working in 3delight any more. The lack of previews and the length of time to see if I screwed up just drives me nuts.
...wow. I am in awe.
Straight into the shopping basket, fast enough to leave scorch marks on my browser.
Cheers,
Alex.
I want to use iray but my current computer cannot handle it. I might be getting a better computer soon then I will love your products. I can use your stuff in my work.
Maybe someone with the set could run the Iray > 3DL converter and see how well it turns out?
Wonderful set and I'll certainly get it, soon I hope, but I wonder if any of the buildings can be loaded singally? That is, is it all one big element or can I load individual items? I find that I'm in need of a building in this style (or close to) but I can't find anything that is just by itself, or can be loaded alone. Also it saves on memory when I'm only using one part of the town/street.
Looks very cool Faveral
