Geometry Shells - How to apply materials in Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 figures.

In both the Genesis 1 and 2 figures, you can simply add a geometry shell, select it and apply any material set.

In the Genesis 3 and 8 figures, however, after adding a geometry shell and selecting it, materials don't seem to load.

What's the trick for Genesis 3 and 8 figures in adding materials to the geometry shell?

Are you sure they are regular materials presets, not Hierarchcial Materials presets?
