"Gibson Girl"/Edwardian hairstyles for V4?

I've been looking for months for good hairstyles in the mode of the Edwardian era (especially the famous "Gibson Girl" pompadour/roll type) for Victoria 4 with distinctly limited success. The closest I've been able to find was Biscuits Vivian Hair, which is now on clearance at Renderosity, but it has a distinct drawback; it's a prop rather than a proper hairstyle, and its morphs are very limited so I can't really change the look from character to character. Also, the color mats don't apply one-click-style in Daz; you have to go into Editor and change the textures, which is a bit of a hassle. There are several other updo hairstyles that can do at a pinch for a late-Victorian look, but as far as I can tell so far, apart from Biscuits Vivian, there's really nothing for a proper Edwardian look. I find this especially frustrating as I have just bought two outfits (Anabelle and Victorian Nurse for V4) that I'm looking forward to tinkering with, but they just won't look quite right without the right kind of hair. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'll keep an eye open. I know what you're looking for... You might try Trixy hair. Not quite it, but it has the short poofy look.
The Jade hair without the flowers would work for at least one style.
Oh and for the Vivian hair save your own material presets then you'll have easy one click MATs ......

Well here are 4 possibles(left-right) Aoife ,Isabel ,Wild Orchid, andTwyla Hair .You can hide the tail on Aoife ,and the braids on the Orchid Hair,and ApriSHY has a morph on her website for a free morph to make the back of the Aoife fuller.
You might want to try some of Mylochka's Freebie hair styles over at ShareCG.com. Most of the female ones he's one tent to be based upon styles worn by women in the original Star Trek series (1966-1967) and fit the general styles of the '60s, and they're all set up for V3 and V4.
Doesn't Trixy/Trixie Hair have a scarf hanging down from the back? Can this be hidden?
Well, of those four, Aoife (with the free morph) and Isabel get the closest to what I want. However, none of them really replicates the classic coil/topknot look as you can see in these period fashion images:

I wanted to return to this thread to share a couple of tips I've learned from others or found out about on my own to produce nice-looking "Gibson Girl" hairstyles for Edwardian-era renders:
1) Try loading two hairstyles and tweaking them until they blend well together. I've gotten good results from merging Isabel and Classic Rolled hairstyles especially, but combos of the other hairdos mentioned earlier in this thread with Isabel, plus Biscuits' Vivian hair prop (I know I said at the time of the OP that I hadn't had much luck with that, but that's changed - see below!), RPublishing's Lady Gaia, AprilYSH's Deeta, and Royal Princess Hair, also can work well. You can load textures manually in Editor* in order to get the second hairdo to match with the first. I recommend the "Candy" series of hair-texture expansion sets since they're available for Isabel and Classic Rolled and provide a huge range of hair colors. Props such as feathers and headdresses, which are period-authentic, can be used to dress up the hair and hide any imperfections.
2) Use a partial hair prop. RPublishing's new Mix and Match - Hair Pieces and Biscuits' Partial Hair fronts are the ones I've used so far. I've gotten downright spectacular results, in fact, when I've used the "Front 5" hair prop from the Biscuits set with Biscuits Vivian or Isabel. I'll try later to put up some renders so you can see what I've come up with.
*At the time of the OP, I found manually changing textures in Editor irksome, but six months later, that's no longer the case, especially since I've gotten so much practice in using third-party shaders to change the look of clothes and props. (In fact, I've come to like some shader sets, especially the Fabricator ones, so much that I've almost fallen out of the habit of using the original textures in some cases!)

What would scare me as much as duplicating hair is those itty bitty teensy waists. Ouch.
And of course somebody would have to make a bottle of smelling salts,cause the girdling ,lacing up to achieve those tiny waists, made fainting an art form too.!!
The best corset, as well as IMO one of the most period-accurate, to use is the one in Lady Littlefox's Victorian Innocence clothing set, available from Runtime DNA at http://www.runtimedna.com/Victorian-Innocence-Bundle.html. It comes with both long and short camisoles (to go under it, as was standard practice) as well as a chemise and long and short bloomers and other outer- and underwear items.
What I do is to get the waist as small as possible in morphs first (reduce the "love handle" morphs at your option if you like to get an even tinier waist), then put the corset and other clothing items on the V4 figure. Depending on the specific item, you may need dial the "adjust waist" morph on the clothes to reduce the waist size to what you want. Lyrra's V4 Fancy Dress comes with a "magnet" version that you can use to get a proper corset morph, and Esha's Primadonna and Jan's TheBelleEpoch are both also good at waist-modification capability. With a little practice in tweaking the morphs for waist, buttocks and hips, you can even get an authentic Edwardian-style S-curve!
Here's a sample of what I've been able to do with combinations of hairstyles - in this case, Isabel Hair and Biscuits' Partial Hair Fronts (specifically, the "Front 5" prop). The character is Kaleya's Kitty, with the beauty-patch makeup scheme, though I substituted eyes from Freja's FR Leonora; the hair color is from Candy Isabel, and the feathers come from an old saloon-girl set. The dress is Jan19's free TheBelleEpoch, with teal texture by Chohole, jewelry from various sources - the snake bracelet is a homage to similar bracelets/armlets famously worn by Queen Alexandra - and gloves from Billy-T's Leather Teddy (though they can't be seen in the renders, the lady is wearing the button boots from Lady Littlefox's Infamous); she's carrying the fan from Aisha Fans and Umbrellas, and since she's a "Mata Hari"-type international lady of mystery, she's carrying a Browning 9mm automatic pistol (from Poserworld) with a silencer taken from Papus3D's free Steyr-Mannlicher M1905 at ShareCG (a model he made for me, by the way) .
From the various perspective renders (front, left side, right side and rear), you can see how I achieved the characteristic Edwardian S-curve and very small waist. I dialed up Voluptuous on the V4 body morphs, then reduced both the waist and "love handle" sizes as far as I could go, and set the waist-size modifier on the gown's waist and hips to a whopping -175% (remembering, of course, to activate smoothing modifiers first). I applied Isabel Hair first, tweaking as appopriate to get the proper "Gibson Girl" pompadour look, then put on the Biscuits hair-front prop, selecting the version that descends over the left eye, applied the desired texture from Candy Isabel to Isabel Hair, then went into Editor and applied the same texture to the Biscuits prop. Presto, a Belle Epoque beauty of mystery and intrigue! I still need to finish texturing and adjusting the "dog collar' choker, which I kitbashed from a couple of pre-existing models, but that's the work of just a couple of minutes.

No scarf. One of the best female hairs in the store.

Ali has some other good hairstyles, actually, hr-178, hr227 is very Elizabeth of Austria, HR 172 might work.
Nice thread necromancy... The last post was almost 10 years ago, so don't be surprised if some of the suggestions are not available anymore.
