Preset shapes won't load to Genesis 8

If someone could kindly help me out here...

I add a Genesis 8 female to my scene, then try to apply a character head or body. Should just be a double-click on the preset to add it, yes?

Problem is, the Genesis 8 shape remains stubbornly unchanged.

I'm sure I'm missing something basic here, but I can't figure it out.

    What character are you trying to add? Is the character for Genesis 8? Or does it need Genesis 3 or Victoria 4?

    Make certain that you have the G8F figure selected in your viewport when applying the preset. If that is not the issue, then try looking at the log file after you have unsuccessfully tried to apply the character. The log file is found under Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File. Scroll to the bottom of the file and you should find some error message there about the rogue character that may provide some insight.
