(Coming Soon) V-Wing Heavy Interceptor: Low Poly [Commercial]
Working on a high to low poly bake of my trusty V-Wing Heavy Interceptor to develop a much more economical version for background scene work. So will be a fraction of the polys, but should still stand up to all but the closest scrutiny and should be pretty much indistinguishable from the high poly version thanks to extensive normal mapping. Here are a few WIP images to whet your appetite. Clearly this will make a great companion piece to the V-Wing already released, with that as the hero prop, and this as the cheaper background model that usually got rigged with dynamite to explode back in the pre-CGI days.
Following on from this you shouldn't have long to wait before I start throwing some environment work out there too. So keep your eyes peeled for that as well.

Nice work! What do you model/texture in?
Heh, nope, I ain't opening that can of worms Patrick. You'll have to look to other avenues to produce that. 3DS Max does have some good options for blowing stuff up using particle arrays and the like. Though would be some serious fun and games translating that data to Daz 3D methinks.
What I will be doing though is providing clean and dirty versions as with the original V-Wing release, and though I won't be rigging these for animation, I will provide flight and landed configurations of the ship as well, so these will be useful for filling out a background of a scene whether it be a down and dirty epic dogfight in space, or a vast hangar filled to the brim with these bad boys just itching to get into the fight.
Thanks FSMCD, I model in 3DS Max and texture in Substance Painter and Photoshop.
