The Heavy Metal Princess outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s) is coming soon to the Daz store (just waiting on a release date).

The Heavy Metal Princess is sexy and loaded with attitude. This outfit comes with tall spiked heels, a spiked bra, boy shorts with fishnets, a choker, bracelets, and an ammo belt. All clothing items come with plenty of material options and some can be customized even further. All items were textured inside Substance Painter, making use of many different texture maps, which provide a very detailed and realistic look to your renders.

Looks great and brings back lots of memories from when I was a rock musician back in the day.

be careful with substance painter since most of the maps it makes are just creating bloat for the GPU in my experience

Thanks and very cool to hear you were a rock musician (my favorite type of music).

Substance is really no different than any other software as far as exporting and plugging in maps into daz. You just have to know what each map is and what it does. If it doesn't have an effect on the end result then it shouldn't be used. That's on the artist, not the software. I've used Substance with almost all my products and very pleased with the results.

Are the fishnets a complte item by themselves or are they just an extension of the boy shorts?

Thanks. My first band was in 83 while in college and I did it up to 2004. Was definately an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.

I see your point on substance painter, just that there have been a few items I almost returned because of performance issues because of so many maps that SP plugs in - overkill!

Great looking product though, looking forward to the release.

Wow 21 years, that's pretty crazy! Papa Roach is my favorite band who is still around making music. Ever get a chance to meet Jacoby or any of the band?

DarkEdgeDesign does a really good job on a tutorial for using Substance Painter for Daz Studio (https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-and-substance-painter). Every new artist to Substance should use the method in his tutorial. It makes use of 8 different maps plugged into 11 settings. All 8 are generally required to capture the same look and realism shown inside substance but some models would require less or different ones such as Opacity and SSS maps based on what it is.

Great looking promos! Is the collar ring rigged, or if not, can it be hidden?

Nope, Papa Roach came towards the end of my time playing. Think earlier hair metal and I have lots of celebrity road stories from then, LOL

Yep, seen the DED video on SB and it is one of the problems I mentioned. 8 maps plugged into 11 settings my look great in SP or a high end app like max or maya, but in DS it is overkill IMO. For complex shaders like skin, I can see the need, but not on other things and especially with resources at a premium for most in DS using Iray. Just my 2 cents based on experience. I can always remap items like I did with the other addons that brought my PC to it's knees, LOL.

Thanks and it is an attachment to the collar so it can be moved, rotated etc or hidden.

  • Sweet!

I already have the matching guitar LOL

Except mine's been through a bit more :P

Here's a shot from when it wasn't so messy.

What hair did you use for the promo shots?   I'm asking because I really like 80's big hair on rocker chicks.  Think Vixen, specifically the late Jan Kuehnemund.

BTW, I played in bands in the late 70's and 80's, too.  :)
