Modular Medieval Village [Commercial]

This will be the next set from me.

44 building blocks to assemble your buildings, 80 props to customise the buildings, plenty of materials to individualize the buildings.

If my math is correct you can create 5112 uniquely different buildings before customisation. So pretty much limiteless possibilties.

Well, we all always like props, but I think providing them in a separate product would make the price more affordable and allow those of us with some of that stuff from your other products to re-use what we have. :-) Are you considering any expansions to this set like you had for MICK?

Looks awesome, I'm looking forward to this!

Yes. Well...if this set sells well, otherwise there is no point. As an expansion I was thinkinking of modular towers (square, round, hexagonal and 8-sided) along with more intricate ground bases than just a square cobble plane. Things like a canal going through town with a bridge or a countryside environment with grass and trees.

Looks great! Will it include presets for ready made buildings?
  • dreamfarmerdreamfarmer Posts: 2,128

Given that every time you release a village, people are eager to ask how much they can customize it, I certainly hope it sells very well. I'm salting away half of next month's Daz Allowance myself. Those expansions sound very useful.

Yes. There are 6 presets for buildings. But honestly they’re super easy to make. Chose your ground floor, (remember you can rotate floors for different looks, all sides are different for every building blocks), second floor if you want third floor if you want add a roof, apply the pre-made materials you want add all the pre-made architectural props you want.It literally takes less than 10 minutes to make a very intricate building.

"Modular", "medieval" and "Faveral", the three forbidden words hath been spoken, a pecuniary sacrifice must be made!

Also, any chance doors and windows can be opened? And how do the interiors look? Good enough to furnish, passable for a character going in or out, not the intended purpose at all, ...? Almost idle curiosiy, at this point, seeing as I am already budgeting next month's meals (i.e. ramen).

    Luc,

Awesome as always!  Are you going to include the village from the first three promos?

More complex ground bases sounds like a good idea to me.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Too modern, M. Guillotine was born in 1738 (according to Wikipedia). A stake with a nice heap of firewood, or a pillory should be fine.

There were medieval precursors to the guillotine, but a pillory or a gallows would be suitable

This looks brilliant (again!) - I love your MICK sets and this will be another must-buy I think.

    Looks very good.

It would be perfect if doors and windows would be openable and if there would be stairs and walls inside... so we can use the houses for internal scenes, too.

Agreed, but that might be better as a separate (add-on) set?

Yeah, ideally they would be two versions of every mdoule.

Only external only (for fater renderings for outside scenes)
And a the other version has internal architecture (walls, openable windows and doors, stairs, but no furniture).

This is one thing that most poser content does much better than DAZ. Most Poser houses has internals, too!
In DAZ the products are mostly only externals or internal :-(

So, I've been collecting medieval stuff for a long time. Each time I buy something, I can see how what I bought a way back has been surpassed in realism and quality by the new products I am buying. Now ... this awesome set. Man oh man. The lesson for me is: don't buy anything until you are about ready to build s scene and render it, or you might be buying a bunch of stuff you'll never need. This lesson will save me a lot of money in the future. This set though .... I'll buy regardless =)

Dare we hope for the PA sale in September?

I don't have an ETA yet the set is still in testing. I'll know more later on. Usually from testing to release it's about 3 to 4 weeks.
