I should add extra version .. but I will do that to the expansion or maybe I will make layered image preset would be even better
I was thinking about as well but then things go fast and there was no time.. you did a great job on that
the low speed of trans mapped hair is because the alpha maps , if there is other value than white and black the engine will slow down dramatically , most hair are using gray value on the alpha maps that why it slow down the rendering time .

thanks for sharing your render !
The wizard hit the 3th place in the top 30 today .. what a surprise did not expected that everyone was in need for a Wizard
thank you everyone for the support!
now we can have a fan club ! hehe
I may do something extra for the wizard soon also .. surprise surprise
    as thank you

LMAO! Nicely merged into the photo! At least Goodgulf Greyteeth (the name is from the book Bored of the Rings) is not giving Mr Obama rabbit ears :)

I forgot about that book. I enjoyed that one and Doon. The red within red eyes of the beer addicted.

Thanks Gogger I searched 'Hobbit' everywhere I could think of; but didn't think to search 'Halfling'. I like the cottage and will probably get it. I would like it to be built more into a hillside, but I can probly create a hillside and push the cottage into it.
I may also get the docks since they are on clearance sale over at Rendo.

    Thanks Again,
    Charlie

Maybe I'm missing something, but do you mean this:

    House on the Hill ?

It's poser-specific, fwiw, but it looks pretty much like what you're asking for.

    Thanks Cypherfox,

I hadn't seen that one either. So now I will have to think about it and choose. 'The House on the Hill' is built back into a hill just I like I want; but it lacks an interior that the Halfling house has and the pictures look like it is a bit more cartoonish than the Halfling house from Meshbox / Mirye..

    Good find, Morgan!

Sooo.... here are a couple more - not exact matches, but also worthy of notice:

    Lumberjack House

    Forest Hut

    Dragon's Treasure

Sheesh - mebbe we should start a thread for LOTR style stuff (with The Great Wizard as the first link!).

Love this little outfit but it was the Pipe and Book that really got my attention.

Very much looking forward to the Dark Elf.

Thanks to everybody for their suggestions
Meanwhile I found a free 'Hobbit Hut' on ShareCG in obj format and pushed into a hillside. But I will still probably get the Halfling cottage for its interiors.

Oh that is cute !!! you can make the clothing much smoother on shapes like this when you use smooth modifier and set it on Generic with the desired value
it will smooth the scale differences

    great work!!

Thihi.... did you know that the great wizard i nmy runtime has a daughter? ;P

    The Wizards Daughter

He watched her struggle a little, her face filled with concentration. Than slowly but surely flames flickered to life in her hand, three different kind of flames mixing together in a dance that was beautiful to see. A proud smile grew on his face as his voice softly, with hints of pride and joy, spoke "Well done child, I knew you could do it. Listen to the flames now child, they came when you called treat them with the respect they deserve." His daughter didn't answer him but he could see happiness mixing with concentration on her face, as the flames danced on her hand...

    The family gathering
                 or
    A generation conflict

Perhaps they should invite the Alchemist for having more fun?

It's a set called Shire Cottage which I got out of Rendo's Clearance section sometime in, maybe 2010. Probably long gone now. The modification dates on the actual .objs is 2002, so I gather it's pretty old. It isn't organized into a proper runtime, just a slew of .objs. .mtls, and .jpgsfor the textures.

The artist went by Manick in the readme (which is dated 2006), and left an email. I never tried to get in touch, so I've no idea whether it's any good.

There's a lovely round door but it doesn't open, so I spent some time this afternoon giving it a matt zone so I could turn it off.

I used some shaders and replaced the floor with a primitive since it extends beyond the house and was very much in the way.

When I started this picture the other day it was snowing here, so I got the idea to put my Poser people in a winter landscape. Fortunately the snow melted away very quickly, and the weather is more spring-like again.
