Am I remembering wrong?

Didn't there used to be a Generation 4 (V4) legacy morph for Genesis 3 available in the store at one time? I have tried to look for it but either don't know the name or have completely lost my mind.

There's the autofit clone (here), and the Legacy UVs product which enables you to use V4 textures on G3F (at Rendo), but I don't remember any V4 shape morph for G3F.

No this was an actual shaping morph, maybe it was gor G8 when she first came out.

I think I saw that morph somewhere too... not sure when or where, but maybe not G8... but then again I'm insane, so don't go by anything I agree with you on... actually... if I agree with you... that's not a good sign.

Pretty sure Genx has M4/V4, G1, and G2 morph sliders for G3. Maybe you saw them in the Parameters or Shaping Tabs? I know there are head sliders, but I'm almost certain there are body morphs too.

No what I am thinking of was an actual legacy morph for G3 like there was or G2 I have a V4 shape slider in muy lebary but for some reason the body looks right but the face is way out in left field.

There were some for Generation 4 to Genesis:

    And some to Genesis 2:

This was actually something like the legacy morphs for G2 but they were for G3.

GenX, if you have the necessary packages, provides legacy morphs to G7F that can emulate V4's shape.

Mind you, anything that provides a V4 fit clone can be relatively simply converted to an actual rigged morph by exporting the geometry, reimporting as a new morph and then updating the rigging. (You don't actually want to rig the fit clones, as I believe this will break the auto-fit function).

Agreed, G2 did and does exist, but never saw anything for V4.

It's really not so bad... you get to shout at squirrels in the park and pants are optional... and you'll have lots of company too!

  • Are you thinking of the one generated by GenX? It's under General --> Generation X --> *** People *** as Victoria 4.

I don't have GenX,The V4 morph I have was done by someone on DA and they also did a G2 for G3, but the set I seem to remember was sold in the store here.

See your PMs. I sent you a link to a DA one but I don't think it was ever sold at DAZ

Thanks Charlie, I do have that one but the face seems a bit off when it is loaded. I appreacite the PM letting me know about it. yes

I don't know why but I just have this vidid memory of there being a V4 or Gen 4 legacy morph set for G3 right after it came out, and remember it was a big deal but I ahven't seen it for a long time. Maybe I have lost my last marble and all I have left are rocks.  Thanks for everyone that has tried to help me with this

I am pretty certain I have purchased every transfer tool offered by DAZ and the only paths I see in my library to move a morph from V4 to G3 is with the following products:

    1. https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2

The GenX2 plugin includes support for the generation 4 Poser figures (Victoria 4, Michael 4, and Kids 4) as well as for Genesis (version 1). Further figures are supported by add-ons sold separately. To transfer morphs from or to Genesis 2, the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2 is required.

    2. https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2

    3. https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-3

With both add-ons for Genesis 2 and for Genesis 3, you can transfer morphs in any direction between Genesis, Genesis 2 Male, Genesis 2 Female, Genesis 3 Male, and Genesis 3 Female. It also enables transfer from the generation 4 figures (Victoria 4, Michael 4, and Kids 4) to Genesis 3 Male and Female. Further Poser figures are supported by separate add-ons.

I own both of these products and they are for using previous generation textures on a later generation figures. I don't remember them allowing the transfer of morphs:

Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: V4 by CaymanStudios

Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: G2F by CaymanStudios

Then I think this is the only "automated" way to do the transfer:

    1. https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2

Although, you can always do manual morph transfers.

I am interested if anyone has a better recommendation.

It seems like you want the V4/M4 shape on a Genesis 3 figure. I could not find anything here or at Rendo. The only items I know of are UV map transfers, pose transfers, morph transfers, and clones. You could transfer V4 morph and dial in V4 shape.

I don't think Legacy Generation 4 Shapes were made for G3. Only G2:

If you want to make one:

    In brief:
If you have a decent V4 shape for any of the Genesis clans, all figures at base resolution [and if G8 no eyelashes], pose G3 to whichever figure has the V4 shape AND dial in their shape - export out a mesh [as I recall with no groups - to be used for making morphs].
On the default figure that has a V4 Shape, load in that .obj file and make clothing with it. [full figure, NO smoothing].
Once the clothing file is made, then dial in V4 shape.
HIDE ALL figures except the clothing - export out that clothing figure.
    Select G3F, using Morph Loader Pro, bring in that clothing figure and make the morph. {reverse deformations}
Dial in the morph, hopefully it looks okay.
Straight away, go to the Bone editing tool and in the view port right-click on a bone and select Edit, something about Adjusting bones to the mesh. Then straight away on the Parameters Tab, right-click on the dial to enter Edit Mode. Then right-click on it again and select ERC Freeze. Select the 3 boxes at the bottom of the dialog. Hit Accept.
Now as you slide the morph dial, the bones should move with the morph.
You can also recolour the dial and/or reposition where you want the dial to appear on the tree.
Zero the morph and Save it {File, support assets, morph assets, selecting ONLY the one new morph just created}.

When you clear the scene and load a fresh G3F, dialing in V4 should have just V4's shape dialing in.

I've put together this notes from memory, it's been awhile since I did the work for the tutorials in my thread.

And no, Sickleyield's clones do not make nice shaping morphs as I recall.
