Genesis 3 Female - Merging anatomical elements geometry doesn't work

DaedolonDaedolon Posts: 13

Hi,

I'm trying to merge Genesis 3 Female and the Genitalia into 1 asset using the Merge fitted geometry. I'm using Daz Studio 4.15. My steps are as follow:

  1. Add Genesis 3 Female
  2. Add Genitalia
  3. Apply materials
  4. Merge fitted figures geometry

The result is that the geometry is indeed merged but the morphs don't work anymore on the genitalia, see attached screen where I use the Heavy morph, the genitalia does not get heavier. The morph does work before I merge though but I need to merge them to export to FBX and be able to use the genitalia morphs into Unity.

I've already tried to set resolution level to base and subdivision to 0 before merging but still the same problem.

Any idea how to solve this bug? One or 2 years ago, when I tried this way, it was working fine but not anymore for some reason.

Thanks in advance

Mod Edit :-  Please use smooth texture shaded figure if this sort of nudity is necessary

  • I think, if that was possible at all, that you would need a real (as opposed to projected) morph in the anatomical elements before merging. You can export the morphed OBJ, using the morph name (name not label, you can get it from Parameter Settings via the gear icon on the slider), then use Morph Loader (Edit>Gigure menu) to apply it to a fresh load of the anatomical elements (to make sure you have no issue with a pre-existing projected morph). I would do one morph as a proof of concept, since I'm not certain this will work, before going through doing every morph you need.

Well it is definitely possible since I did it 1 or 2 years ago and imported this model to Unity. It was working fine. My issue is that I wanted to update the export morph list with some new ones but when I merge, the genitalia morphs stop working.

And I'm not the only one with this issue, check there, it's a bit outdated but the exact same issue:

It was working before but not anymore.

I do remember following the steps there:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/adultvrgames/comments/4p7016/using_daz3d_models_in_unity_and_unreal/

It was working then but not anymore. Isn't the Daz team aware of this bug ?

As for exporting morph by morph, that's not possible with my project unfortunately way too many morph combination possible. I need the morphs/blendshapes in Unity to shape the girl however the players want.

OK, so I found a solution to my problem :

To sum up, find a version before 4.12 since that's when merging starting [giving unhelpful results].

    Hope that'll help somebody else.
