In the Smart Content pane, you will only see it if you have Metadata for it (And CMS is running). In the Content Library pane you will see it where it was installed, presuming you have that Content library mapped in DS.
There is one reason that Valentina is still installed by Install Manager and the DS Installer, and that is for Carrara 8.5 users. If you are not using Carrara 8.5, or if you are using the Carrara 8.5 Public Beta and are not having issues) and if you are not using ZoneAlarm then it is highly recommended you download and install PostgreSQL and use that database instead.
It wasn't in a hierarchy, but I'll have others that are... The sample I used didn't tell me where to put it, just that they were poses and there were eight directories (each at the same level) of those poses.
I tried refresh, and it didn't seem to work...

Ok; definitely can't see it in Smart Content because i don't have Metadata. How do I have that Content library mapped in DS?
-Eileen
OK that just won't work. It is not an issue with DAZ Studio, but one with how the Content was packaged. The possibilities are endless, and I can guess all day and still not get it right. LOL.
What is the name of the product and where does it come from, so I can try to get it and see what you are looking at. :)
I believe it came from ShareCG, the product name is 'Self Control Mega Pack'. I think it was made for Poser, but since I don't have that and it has poses for V4 and M4,,,

Well downloaded Daz studio 4.7 on Windows 8.1 64bit with all updates nice layout everything works but the program freezes on just trying to move two characters around a scene without any lights or environment. I have a Intel i7 6-core with 32gigs of ram on a 64bit copy of windows 8.1 and a nvidia GT640 video card with latest drivers. This new studio has great features but it is too buggy to be released as a general release. Just my 2cents worth.
I'm experiencing some really long loading times on content, scenes, and even material presets. Example from the logo below- over three minutes to load the Car Admiral. This would normally load in just a few seconds.
What does this look like? Thanks for any help here.
MAC Yosemite, DAZ 4.7.0.12 64 bit
*** Scene Cleared ***
File loaded in 3 min 7.8 sec.
Loaded file: Admiral.duf
Without me reading through the 28 pages or so in this thread (search won't bring up an answer) is there a way to go back to 4.6? (DIM was used to install 4.7) I see a lot to like with 4.7 but it isn't playing nice with my computer. Load times are so long now, renders times are up and DS is crashing a couple of times an hour. Though I don't have a top of the line computer I wasn't having these problems before so I'm coming to the conclusion my computer hates DS 4.7 and even though I keep pointing out the positives, she's not listening! Yes I know I need the Computer Whisperer but it may be easier to go back to 4.6 .... what's the saying happy computer, happy life? :)
If you didn't save the .zip file for 4.6 you would need to contact Tech Support to see if they would provide you with it.
Installed 4.7 on 32 bit Windows XP and it seems to be working great. I like the view ports, dial icons and begrudgingly getting used to the render pane and background thing but it is worth it for the no halo . Docking those 2 panes with the others for one click access makes it a lot easier also. Overall it appears to be a great improvement.
The problem I have now is that I can only save IPR and final renders as jpg or png format.
The options to save bmp and tif just aren't there anymore.
Are these the only options now?
Unfortunately some image formats are no longer supported in XP. Windows 7 and higher will still allow them though.
PNG is a lossless format so it is perfectly OK as an intermediate step to other formats.

I'm a pack rat and keep everything however wasn't able to find a zip file for DS 4.6 so not sure how it was originally installed. I'll send a request off to tech support as suggested and see if they'll send me the files. Thanks.
Question! I don't feel like going through 30 pages of stuff, so I'll ask here:
Is anyone else getting an overlap of the right side pane with the main Viewport? I notice this every time I try to have both panes open. This is troublesome as it covers the View controls, prohibiting use.
I think that happens to me if I have reduced the DS window size - not fullscreen.
Here I reduced the size to make a clean screenshot of the new environment pane:
I suppose that would make sense if that was the case, but my DS is always full screen as featured in the screenshots.
after minimizing the window daz studio forgets to recognize the "Viewport Centering Spacer"
if I use F3 apply its back

Have you tried using 'Docked View Controls'? This might solve your problem.
Certain panes have a minimum size. Two of those happen to be Shader Mixer and Shader Builder and appear to be the cause here. If you collapse the left side pane in Shader Mixer and remove shader builder from your Center pane group the issue should go away. (It does on 1366x768 screen size.)
Hmm...Never mind the original posting
64 bit was not showing up in my file but just downloaded the Public Build and it is working.
Strangely The 32 bit version opens fine but crashes on any render...back to the drawing board
Definitely a bug: Environment with 'Visible in Render" = ON, does not automatically update in Aux Viewport in next camera view change. Applies for all variables: going from No Backdrop state into Backdrop On>Background:color state, or changing color, or adding Image.
Workaround: stop IPR and start IPR. Or make changes in Parameters. Marque Area Render on main viewport also does the trick.

Thank You. That is what I was afraid of! Have gone back to 4.6 because I use UberEnvironment light with HDRs almost exclusively and have to access tifs. Ironically the HDRI to tiff conversion script in 4.7 still worked. Oh well, the program is free and very much appreciated, not your fault I have very small pockets and Windows 7 is still only a dream :)

Actually, it turns out my Gen X tab was the problem. Everything's fine now! :)
Help!! Please!!! I have installed my DAZ Studio 4.7 complete new, the content (Starters etc.) are shown in the Smart Content Pane, but not in the Content Library Pane. I have used the Install Manager and i used to install the content manually. Both without any resul in the Content Library Pane.
Make sure the locations you are installing to are listed in "Window > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager" as both "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats".
I think this is a bug - it looks as if, in building the context menu, the Clear Selection command is dropped instead of the Select when right-clicking on a prop. Please report it.
I'll report it along with the picture. One would think that the Clear Selection command should be there no matter what type of item is selected.
Ok now this is weird? Is daz studio 4.7 64bit supposed to take an hour to save a scene with only one character no lights and only a few pieces of clothes and 1 wig. I have a i7 intel 6core with 32gig of ram and 2 7200rpm seagate hard drives on windows 8.1 64bit with 640gt Nvidia graphics card. Is this a windows 8 thing do I need to reinstall windows 7 or just get studio 4.6 back?
Save time depends as much on the kind of objects in the scene as it does on the number of objects — if everything loaded in the scene is a native format .duf object, it should save quickly, whereas every Poser object (and maybe .daz scene objects from before D|S4.5) will be converted and saved into native format, which is much slower. It still shouldn't take that long for one clothed character. Other people have reported slow load/save times, though, so perhaps this D|S4.7 release is just glitchy; it's happened before.
It is possible to reinstall the last D|S4.6 version, but only if you saved the manual D|S installer, it can't be done if you left everything to DIM. Also, any files you saved with 4.7 will probably not load in 4.6.
If you don't have DIM set to delete the packages after install, you should still have the 4.6 zip, as the latest is named 4.7.
Files saved in 4.7 should still work in 4.6.
