Any Known Conflicts with Security Software?

Maybe a dumb question, maybe not, but will Install Manager or, say, the PostgreSQL based service conflict with any security software (firewalls, anti-virus/anti-malware, etc.) that I already have installed on my system?

    Unless the situation has changed recently Zone Alarm does not play nicely with PostgreSQl (in general, not just the DAZ CMS). I'm not aware of any other conflicts.

    A related question: can I work offline when I run DAZ3D, or does PostgreSQL (or any related programs) require that I be online during at least part of my session?

    You can work offline, the only thing that connects online is the DAZ Studio Improvement Program if you opted in, and if you're offline anything that would normally be transmitted for that purpose is saved until you are online again.
