I've used this
http://www.daz3d.com/dawn-to-dusk-lighting-2

and while building my scene in DAZ it looks like there is a sky dome then when I render it is all black (see pics)
Furthermore as you can see the skin doesn't look so good.....and I've noticed the "EnvironmentSphere" is very little!
where am I wrong?

    What looks like a sky dome in the preview is the UberEnvironment light sphere. This is just showing you the image it is using to generate the environment lighting, but it does not render. You need a sky dome to get the sky. If you add a sky dome, you can turn off the environment sphere in the scene tab. Turning it off will not effect the lighting.

    The blotchy skin is because of quality settings. You need to use Quality 3HI or Qauality 4XHI presets and set the "Shading Rate" to 0.2 on the advanced render settings.

    Correction: I just remembered you can make the Environment sphere visible in the render. Select the EnvironmentSphere under the lights in the scene tab. In the Parameters tab under Misc find "Visisble in Render" and turn it on.

    Some notes from my previous usage of Dawn To Dusk lights.

    Looking at my notes, it appears the quality presets are the ones from UberEnvironment2 . I have this light set in a category with the quality presets from UberEnvironment2, but I think those quality presets are really in:

    Light presets -> omnifreaker -> UberEnvironment2
