Applying a pose not working - is there a better solution?

I have encountered an issue where, in working on a series of images, I am using various content poses as starting points on my figures and then going and fiddling with them until I have what I want, like most do I guess.
But I have run into an issue now some 20 scenes in where some poses simply will not work. They appear to load, I get a "turn limits off?" popup and all, but then.... nothing.
So my workaround is - I start a new scene, load in a base genesis2 male or female, apply the pose I want, save it as a pose preset, load up my working scene, apply the pose preset and it works fine.
I am just wondering, is there a better way?
Something less tedious that I could do right in my original scene?
Please note, in general the poses that come up in the smart content window do not have this issue, they continue to work fine, this just happens with some of the pose sets Ive purchased at other 3rd party sites. And even they appear to work fine in general (other scenes, etc), just now that Im so far into this current series suddenly Im encountering this issue.

Do you Zero the figure inbetween loading different poses?
Zero means reset Genesis back to the T-pose (when you load him/her in)
To do it you need to select Genesis, open the perameters tab, click the options button (top left of the panel- with little arrow and lines) and scroll down to'Zero/ Zero Pose'. (this will also move genesis back to the x,y,z translate postion of 0.00 too.)

Its advisable to zero the figure first, often it depends what body parts the vendor saved out in their pose,
what ever parts they didnt save out - can be carried over to the new pose you apply, so the different presets could be 'stacking up' on top of each other to the point that almost nothing changes.

I had this issue with Kids 4 last week just after 4.7 came out. I had to load a new Kids 4 to get the poses working. I haven't tried again though. Proper Zeroing didn't have any affect on the issue.

    Yes zeroing did nothing.
I should also mention that my method would not work if I loaded the base g2 male into the existing scene - the pose also would not take. I HAD to start a new scene then load the base figure etc etc. So its weird and Im very new at daz so my understanding of whats going on in the background is very shaky. So I cant decide if the issue is with the figures, which is what I thought at first, or the scene, which is what makes more sense in light of the previous.
Also, this issue started in 4.6, while looking for solutions I saw that 4.7 was out and installed it, no help (but I do like the update so far).
