Lol you really didn't have to, but thank you
So...if I may ask...what do you use the shape shifter for? Just to make tweets to the figure? Or...?
It basically provides you with options to further refine your figures shape to your liking. Here is a video showing what it does.
I love the vids. I wish others would do that, to help us out a tad.
I haven't had much of a chance to play much the past few months amongst all the other 'simpler' projects. I will say, Shape Shift is an invaluable tool for those that want to adjust the shape of there figures, and I have used the generation six (G2F) version extensively in the past. The Generation 7 (G3F) version is equally as good.
Yes there is multiple versions for different 'Generations' of figures, ans one will not work on the other (to the best of my knowledge).
Thanks. So if you refine your figure,...will the clothes still fit?
Sticky question, of a sorts (in ref to part of my signature). I have had no cloth fitting issues at all with Generation 6 even with the G2F shape-shift in use. These shape-shift dials don't appear to cause problems with close fitting clothes (swimwear/underwear) on generation 7 (G3F/G3M) as well.
I have had issues with "non daz3d G3F figures", as some of them use a higher SubD shaping then Auto-follow will accommodate (not caused by Shape Shift), and few if any cloths have custom JCM things in them specifically for each "non daz3d G3F figure". If you stick exclusively to the "Daz Original" figures like V7, Eva7, Bethany7, etc, you will almost never have a problem with generation 7 cloths on them. A good example of "non daz3d G3F figures" is Summer or FWSA Adaline, that don't even work with the outfits included in the V7 Pro Bundle there included with, lol. It is a sad state of affairs for all the PAs out there that make G3F figures I like.
So, No, Shape Shift for generation 7 (G3F/G3M) dose not in itself cause cloth fitting issues. It also dose not help for all the figures that already had issues to begin with. That's the honest answer, in short form.
So in closing. Ceterum auto-sequi oportet esse figi -> However, auto-follow must be fixed.
Thanks. I pretty much only use Daz figures. Didn't really know there were other figures out there (other than the ones that come with Poser). I decided to go ahead and buy the product.
Zev0,
Just noticed that there's a boat load of "Could not find property for animation..." warnings in my log file. They all seem to be caused for Shape Shift for G3F and appear whenever I load G3F. It's not causing a problem for me, but I don't do animation, so I'm not sure what difficulties it might cause there.
Here's an excerpt, but there seems to be a line for each and every morph.
I couldn't find an obvious cause in the .dsf files.
Looking into it.
Oh hey, that reminds me: Now that I have Shape Shift and Breast Control, can I point the Figure Metrics panel to point your morphs instead of Breast Circumference, Waist Circumference, and Hip Circumference?
Hmmm. It is possible, but you will have to do to know much a morph at 100% translates in actual world measurements\or Studio's and then set the strength ratio so that when you add in a size, the morph dials accordingly.
That has not been my experience. I never have issues w/ FWSA or Silver figures. While I don't doubt that you have problems, your issues are not as universal as you imply.
Figure Metrics works by applying the set morph to adjust the target value, then looking at the new measurement and if it's still off adjusting again - up to a number of iterations set by the user. It isn't taking the actual value of the morph and working out how much of it is needed from that (which wouldn't work anyway when mixing settings).
Just picked this up .. so far happy with what I can do, need more $ before I can deal with the breast, and aging
I have the product and it works great. Thanks ZeV0! Just wondering - do you plan on doing any more work on G3's feet - specifically the rather odd bend in her toes when she stands tip-toe. It is less of a bend than it is a distinct 'crease' - not very realisitic or aesthetically appealing. A smoother bend would go a long way towards improving the realism of the character. I bring it up because I am working on a series of dance (barefoot) renders where there is a lot of bending in the toes. So, again, any plans on addressing this at any point? Thanks!
Wasn't really part of my plans, but I will have a look. I am working on some bend enhancements for a project, and if something regarding the feet can be done, I will probably add it in there.
I got the GF3 version, but how would one go about applying the discount, as I cannot see a price change in my cart. Thanks in advance, I love your work, and am currently edging my way towards checking off each product from your entire stock!
You should be notified about a discount via a pop up message if you own the G3F version once the male version is released. In theory
Yes, Your theory is most likely correct, unfortunately the "site itself" disagrees, as I haven't any notifications from them in any form...I even disabled all my extensions thinking it might be an ad blocker, but no...Thanks for the info, looks like I'll have to take it up with the store staff...
@ Esemwy Do you have any Deva3D products installed? If so, delete them. They have animation settings in the dsf and duf files of those products and DAZ Studio 4.9.1.30 (latest as I write this) will automatically load all animation settings when you have a character selected and you apply presets or load another character which means your characters will be distorted somewhat. Yeah, weird that settings in a completely unrelated product would load automatically, but there you have it. Also clear your cache (in preferences) after you remove the products.
I installed and then re-installed Vascularity HD for Genesis and while the files for zeroing out applied morphs show up where expected the morphs themselves are no where to be found. The installed files can be found in the correct locations (/Users/Shared/My DAZ 3D Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Morphs/Zev0/Vascularity HD, for exapmle) and the product itself shows up in the Product Library but only the "Zero X Veins" show up under "People/Gen/Anatomy/Vascularity". From the product the README:
You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio Folders:
“People:Genesis:Anatomy:Vascularity HD”
As I said, I've re-installed the product and got the same results (I did un-install it first). I bought, installed and used another Zev0 product successfully at the same time as Vascularity HD so I'm unsure what the problem is. Help!
/Users/Shared/My DAZ 3D Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Morphs/Zev0/Vascularity HD is an sset folder containing files that load with the figure, it isn't a user folder you should see in the content panes. It adds morphs to the figure that you use directly by djusting the sliders.
I understand that - I was just confirming that the files were installed in the correct location where the README said they should be - which is why I am left wondering why the morphs are not showing up in DAZ since they were installed correctly, esp. given gthe fact that the "Zero X Veins" morph removal files appear where they are supposed to in the Content Library.
Just to check: you are loading Genesis 1, not Genesis 2 or 3?
Oh, no. Am using a Genisis 3 character. I assumed since the product page said "Compatible Figures: Genesis" that it would work on any Genesis figure. Would you mind bringing me up to speed on what exctly Genesis compatibility means? And how to us a product like this on G3? Thank you Leana.
When it says "Genesis" that means the first Genesis, not Genesis 2 or Genesis 3, which came later. It is an easy mistake to make when you are new. If you bought these by mistake thinking they would work for Genesis 3, you can return them within 30 days of purchase. Just submit a help request.
Right. Thanks. Appreciate your help.
hi Zevo, i purchased the Shapeshift morph package and after installation, couldn't launch the script. Log file error "WARNING: libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile"
i'm new to Daz so i'm probably asking you a rookie question, but hey...that's how i learn. any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
I really like the shape shift morphs but I have to say that some of the morphs are totally unsuitable for a lot of long hair products because of the auto take over of morphs and they cause bad results on the hair products.
