The Case - April Fools 2023 Render Competition

Denizens of the Daz3D forum, a crime has befallen our beloved society. Earlier this morning, an item released onto the Daz3D store, which has stirred controversy. A Briefcase, emblazoned with a strange illuminated logo, built from the highest quality materials, which travelled the lengths of time and space to reach our blessed lands. A case said to contain the most illustrious and opulent collection of riches known to man. Unfortunately, the cases have been replaced by cheap, mass-produced duplicates, and now contain novelty comedic chickens.

This cannot stand. I, Sir Hubert Bottomley, hereby call upon all professional Daz detectives, to gather any and all evidence relating to the location of the original briefcase. At this very moment, our riches could be in the hands of a scruffy child, or perhaps floating around on the high seas. It could be somewhere extraterrestrial, subterraneal, or possibly even at Dave's house. We require hard proof, and prizes will be awarded to those with the most compelling evidence. I will investigate my attic, the potting shed, and next doors wheelie bins. You cover the rest.

Don't fail me denizens.

RULES

  1. Your glorious Case must be rendered in the Daz ecosystem (Including carrara, bryce etc)

  2. Your render must have a Case in it (Or the chicken, if you absolutely must)

  3. Don't even think about using some kind of cheap knock-off Case from one of our rivals.

  4. Standard Daz TOS rules apply on submissions. Think of the children.

  5. Post your images in this thread. If you post them elsewhere, i probably won't find them, and that would be unfortunate.

    Ooohhhhhh I loved seeing all the creative renders with last year's contest, I can't wait to see where this case has truly come from!

    Just purchased the mysterious case today. Fortunately, I have been building up tokens and got a great discount.

    I have to say, this case is...unbelievable. I have never seen anything like it. Was it made by AI or something? wow.

    Charley the chimp could not reach the "art"ifacts taped to his wall, without something to stand on. When the case carrier strolled by, Charley snatched it from his hand. Unfortunately this case is but a decoy, as evidenced by the SMUC inside. Still it will help Charley reach his goal. The search for the real case continues...

    I haven't posted a picture to the forums in several years, so my first attempt was a failure. I figured it out on my second attempt.

    Detectives!

    In the last four days, we have gathered a litany of compelling evidence. After consulting a series of large language models, various textbooks, and some graffiti I found in the bathroom of Mexican restaurant – I can almost certainly deduce that the case is, indeed, on earth. I must emerge from the safety of my bin and join you all on the road to salvation. In the meantime, you can acquire a counterfeit copy of the case for investigation purposes on the original post in this thread. Now go detectives, time is not on our side.

    An anomaly has occurred during the destination to earth. A division of the original case has taken place, sending this unstable copy to the Fading Vales universe. During its travels the "Briefcase of Doom" has transferred its powers of teleportation to its gilded chicken who resides within. Through it's journey another power has awoken causing the golden chicken to become agitated. Should any being try to provoke or act aggressively towards it, a spell of frost is unleashed causing all in it's way to become flash frozen.  A universal broadcast has been sent to any who may hear.

    We, the mages of Fading Vales, are hoping the summoning of Inferno will be enough to destroy this blight. If we are unsuccessful, then all will be lost for our world. Vale save us all in this attempt.

    I don't know if it is indeed the original case, but there is some evidence it might be in some hidden facilities.

    Loft Fishing

    Fisherman Dave can finally rest easy; night terrors that kept him awake, like bad weather, catching a cold, zombie apocalypse, well... anything really that can put a dent into his fishing habits, shall bother him nevermore.
    Dave chanced upon a mysterious case that fullfilled his greatest wish - the ability to get his fishing fix in the comfort and privacy of his own loft!
    Of course, the chances of Dave keeping the case once Melissa gets home from work aren't excatly high; if the spalshes on the walls and carpet aren't enough, the smell is sure to seal the deal.

    Secret Lake

    An alternate take on the idea... A group of friends heard about the lost mysterious case and decided to embark on a treasure hunt... but I doubt they have many chances of finding anything, not when they're looking for it inside the case.

    if you don't mind me asking, what kind of poses u have there on mousso model, can u tell me what product is it?

    Hi. I did not use any preset. I used the Power Pose tool for only bending the articulations and some twisting to cross the feet (because the reference photos I saw required that).

    After I bent the legs and feet I rotated the hip and bent the neck to point to the case.

    The right arm was only extending the sections, but because I still do not understand the mechanics of the shoulder I opted to use the Inverse Kinematics on the right arm. I pinned the torso so it did not move the rest.

    The last step was again using Power Pose to move the eyes, and close a bit the hands with the option to curl the fingers and make a grip on all the hand.

    Here is the X-Ray security footage taken from that event. It was deleted when the case was stolen, but now some experts recovered it.

    The other products are https://www.daz3d.com/vo-xiao-hua-hd-and-hair-for-genesis-81-female hair, AI-generated background, and the case modeled by me in Blender.

    amazing job u did there tbh, i think it 's a time consuming process when u pose the model in that position like that especially with power pose tool i could never tbh, i use already made poses by creators on daz store instead!cheeky frown

    i was gonna make something like that for ex a spy hanging on the cell with rope in a laser room to steal a diamond jewerly from a highly guarded vault or something but i didn't find the right poses until i found yours in the forums!!
