I just signed onto (HBO) Max, and saw a video about Tina Turner. Out of curiosity I did a Google search and realized she had died today. That was quite a shock. She was one of my favorite performers.

Oh, so sad! The world's a poorer place without her. One great woman with the most amazing voice. Safe journey, my dear!

RAMWolf, I only caught part of the documentary so far. i was installng an expansion card on my home-built computer, and had some trouble with T-Mobile's Internet. I will watch the remainder of the documentary later. I'd like to capsulize my view of Tina.

She was a wonderful, physical, musical and spiritual force.

She used to occasionally show up at a bar in Zurich. She could do that there, which is why she moved there.

She was good to us. Hope she didn't suffer.

Rest in peace dear Tina. Her life has not been easy, but after going to Switzerland I assume it got a lot better.

I read that she had to deal with colon cancer, so I assume that she knew, that it was coming to an end. I'm sure they treated her as best as they could.
Now she can join her sons that left before her.

Very sad. She is my favorite artist all the time.  Hard to believe she is gone.

Truly one  of a kind. Quite apart from her contribution to rock music, I will never forget her performance as Aunty Entity, the bad guy in the George Miller movie Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

    Alex.

  • The band in heaven just got a new lead singer.  Rest in Peace dear.

What a life and so many incarnations.  I'd always been aware of her from being a kid seeing her and Ike performing on the Sonny and Cher show,  but it was 80's Tina Turner for me after she co-starred in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Man what charisma and style!  After that I wished she'd gone on to do more movies. Still what an inspiration.
