Section 18 and Feisty Feather Bun Hair crashing Studio.

This combo keep crashing crashes for me. If anyone has both Stone Mason's Section 18 and Chevybabe's Feisty Feather Bun Hair, could you please load up the SM set then the hair and see if it crashes your iray render?

With nothing but the set and the hair my render/studio crashes 100% of the time. Checking the log file I see this at the end:

    Hello!

    I gave it a shot. If I just load the set and the hair, I also get a crash and DS closes. Once I switch  "Render Line Tesselation Sides" from the default 0 to 1, it works fine. Puzzelingly, the set and the hair by themselves render without issue with line tesselation at 0, just when you have both in the scene there must be some funny intweraction...

    Several people are looking into this now. Seems like a really odd bug.

    You might want to post this in the Commercial thread where Chevybabe25 can see it. Or see if others are seeing the same issue.

    lol yeah it's really odd. But this is typically my luck, the one combination of things that I really wanted to work... doesn't. hahahha

    If this can't be fixed because it's an iray issue I'm gonna be super bummed that I'm going to have to switch to another hair cause Feisty Bun is awesome.

    See my post above as a work around, you can chnage the "Render Line Tesselation Sides" setting from 0 to 1. Then you can render the hair in the environment. At least that works for me.

    It renders but it also makes the hair a strangely shiney light color, and the hair strands start to look not quite right close up, but yeah at least it renders doing this. Hopefully there's an easy solution to this issue and it's not something too complicated. crying

    If you select all Material zones in Section 18 and turn off Round Corners Across  Materials and Set Round Corner Roundness to 0.0, DS stops crashing.

    The first log message is "GeForce RTX 3060): Kernel [21] (RoundedCorners    ) failed after 0.227s"

    So I hunted there first.


    Screenshot coming then the forum hamsters decides its OK to upload files again.....

    I guess it's some type of conflict between the rounded corners in the scene and the rounded corners used by the hair. I wonder if that means two products using rounded corners will make it crash due to some iray bug/limit. I know that Chevy is aware of the issue but I haven't seen an update on what the cause actually is. So far it's the only situation where I've had the issue, but it's just so strange... lol surprise
