Has anyone figured out how to calculate breast cup size in DAZ3D?

I am thinking about doing a series of SFW pinups of famous 30's, 40's & 50's actresses using Genesis 9 and trying to get the body shapes right.  Has anyone figured out how to proper calculate breast cup size in DS 4.21?

I believe Measure Metrics gives you the information you need to calculate it - if it's been updated to include G9. I don't have the package myself, though. You need a mail-order clothing catalogue to tell you how to calculate the size. You need the largest size round the bust and chest size just below the bosom. Then the bra size is the size round the ribs rounded up to the next even number, and the cup size is calculated from the difference between the bust and chest size (can't remember the relationship - which is why I mentioned that clothing catalogue). Regards, Richard.

And as far as I have understood, the cup size isn't the same everywhere. Size AA in Texas is the same as DD elsewhere cheeky

If you search for Breast Tutorial and Sizing Prop for Genesis 8 Female you will find a freebie on renderhub that has some size props and an explanation on sizes.
Besides some usefull props it is also some very interesting and funny reading.

I ended up doing this a while ago for one of my characters - she was a character I'd originally dialled up to be a one-off "I need a very busty character for a joke" (specifically this joke), and someone later asked exactly what size she was.

You can either use Measure Metrics (making sure that the measurement planes don't cut through the arms, as that seems to mess with the measurement), or there's ways to trick Blender into doing it.

(Ultimately, she worked out as 28FF in UK sizing, or a 28H in US sizing. Which isn't quite as over the top as I originally intended - while you're not likely to find it on the shelf, it's the kind of thing non-speciality stores will often be able to order in).

  • Thanks guys & girls.  Measure Metrics still has not been uopdated.  What I am trying toi do is duplicate some specific breast sizes.  Guess I better get dial spinning and calculating.

As MM hasn't been updated, you have a fair bit of extra work to achieve your goal. Do you have a modelling package that can do measurements? If the answer is yes, pose the character in the base pose and export the figure's obj file. Then cut the model with 2 planes, at the fullest part of the bust and just below. Then measure the perimeter length along the cut lines, and use those dimensions. If the answer is no.. you're close to being unable to do it. Regards, Richard.
