A way to modify file settings externally?

I was wondering if there's a way to modify the settings of a project file without the need to open it. I have an animation series with each fram having its own file, if I want to modify one setting I have to open them all and modify them one by one. So is there any way to do this faster?

.duf files are text files, so the can be edited with a text editor (you may need to uncompress them first though). Depending on what you want to change, a batch "replace in files" might work.
