A weird thing about Genesis 1 characters.

I create unique looking characters which are normally a mixture of several other characters to give them the unique look that I want them to have. I create a base character and put some default outfits on hin/her which will be their standard clothings. I've been doing this with G2, G3 & G8. Recently, I decided to regress backwards and began buying G1 characters and clothing. I noticed that something weird is happening with G1 that has not happened with G2, G3 or G8.

When I add another pair a pants to a character, the previous pair of pants disappear. Same for shirts, shoes, etc. With G2, G3 & G8, I can have the character wear all of the clothing. I keep all of them hidden except for the ones that I want the character to wear for that scene but I can't seem to do that with G1 because the earlier clothes are removed.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around? Thank you in advance.

  • Try loading them into the scene with nothing selected. Then fit them to Genesis.

There is/was something in the instructions when adding a similar item as what is selected in the scene, did we want to replace it or keep it or whatever.

That choice is controlled in Preferences (shortcut F2). I don't know why Genesis 1 would behave differently than other characters, though. Try one of the other choices, other than the one that is not working for you. See what happens.

A lot of G1 content wasn't saved correctly, and much of it still hasn't been updated to fix this, this includes the G1 starter essentials, as a result those settings barbult meantions are likely messing things up.
