    GastroPub & Beer Garden:

The gastropub's with daz, should be with you within the next few weeks. I think i'm a bit late for march madness, but i'll be in amongst the madness, just keep your peepers open. Anway, best grab a pint and wait for this all to blow over.

One more render for good luck:

I wonder what this would look like with a two metre tall Amazon warrior  and her dragon sidekick parked in front of it?

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Great stuff, At least she's not throwing people off the top of it.

The dragon would probably get claw-clamped!

  • I have a question on the Sci-Fi Bastion. The interior shots look spectacular. My question is - since it appears to have been designed as an interior, can one take a shot from the outside looking in or is the exterior a featureless, textureless blob? I was thinking of using it as a sort of castle on the hill, a reminder of the invaders who now rule this planet,

It definately wasn't designed for outside shots, but the exterior is textured. Here's a quick render of the exterior -

I beg to differ.  Sat navs in Wales put articulated Lorries onto small 2 lane roads, reduced to one lane by legitimate parking, instead of directing them to the nice multi lane Heads of the Valley Road, which was built to take traffic out of the small towns and villages in the area.

With the current roadworks on the A465, and especially around Dowlais, the sat nav doesn't recognize the current road going to Swansea. It keeps recalculating lol.

I leave the thread for five minutes and it goes all welsh. My dad was a lorry driver actually, i used to ride along with him sometimes, and i can't explain the tense atmosphere in the cab when you mistakenly enter what looks like a hobbit village. The kind of village that only contains four houses, a church, and a chippy - and they are all inches away from each other .sad

I drove all the way from Richmond, Surrey to Dowlais, via Merthyr Tydfil (to pick up keys to our new house) using old fashioned maps.

And KA,  I do know what you mean.  Our village is no longer recognised as a village because it no longer has a pub or a shop and the nearest chippy is in Dowlais. We don't actually have a direct road connection to Dowlais, it's a ziggy zaggy route to get from one to the other. There is a footpath however, and it's as quick, if not quicker to walk..

    Sorry for Hijacking the thread.

Gastro Pub's in my cart. I'll be getting it today. (I've learned to hold off on purchases in case some new developments arise). Great job, KA. May I suggest that your next package be more generous with the promo renders? I really like getting at least eight, and twelve or more is preferable. On the upside, I really appreciate the full model clay renders. I wish everyone did that so we could know exactly where the model ends and begins. Cheers

Thanks max, i'll add more promos in the future. It wasn't an attempt to hide anything, i'm just never sure how many are necessary.

I'm certain there was no attempt to hide anything. Indeed, if anything was hidden, it was a fuller idea of how all-around spectacular the prop is. I think the more people can see of your work, the more excited they'll become.

    Westia - Camper Van

So i've been on a bit of a hiatus, only a small one, but i'm back to developing. I'm fairly confident in showing this early since it's been a complete nightmare to develope! It's a fairly close replica of the volkswagen westfalia camper van, with a full interior including - a small kitchen area, sofabed, curtains, cupboards, driver/passenger seating and of course a full dash etc. It's a bit of an early showing since not only is the plenty more modelling and texturing to do, but also morphing and rigging. However, if there are any suggestions or ideas, feel free to chip in. Probably looking at sending it through to daz by early next week.

    Happy easter!

Ps. The attached image is still a very early iteration, as always.

I had a crack at it and boy do i have a new found respect for the people who do hippie paints for these things. I'll take another crack at it before i wrap but it's tricky to get it looking right.

As i mentioned i'm almost ready to wrap. The rig and morphs are complete, and i've also added a few bits and bobs to make it look slightly more "groovy". Should be with daz before the end of the week.

Yeah, I've found that simulating hippie paint jobs is much harder than it would seem at first glance. I've seen some around here in Portland, Oregon that are remarkably detailed works of very colorful art.

    The Citadel:

Quick note: If you want to pick up the CamperVan above, it's available for free here

So, since Sci-Fi Bastion was so well received (and i love sci fi), i've put some serious hours into a follow-up product. The Citadel is similar in structure and modularity to the bastion, but each section and prop has been built from the ground up with brand new textures and colour balancing. The set is a bit more condensed, but higher poly and more props are spread throughout the scene. The set is built with modular segments, so parts can be hidden or the set itself expanded. Props are also separated out so they can be utilized in different scenes.

I'm wrapping up today, so it should available within a few weeks.

Thank you. And Thank You! I can hardly wait to play.

(Now that I'm looking for it, I was able to find the note and link. I'm using the light theme, and the bright lime text was all but hidden on my monitor...)

yeah it probably wasn't the best colour to go with, but you're all sorted at least.

The Citadel looks really nice!  And it looks close enough to the first set that I can seeing doing a storyline kind of group of renders using both sets for different images, but in the same story group!  Nice!

Yes, the glass frontage is similiar to bastion, same with the textures. Hopefully people who bought the old pack will enjoy it :)

Well, count me as one who has the old pack and I'm looking forward to seeing The Citadel in the store!
