I have also been learning to do BVH import into DAZ and have found that some characters work better than others, with my best BVH import results using the G2F base character. Once imported (using a saved maped) I then create an aniBlock which I can apply to other characters. I have been avoiding using the G3 character as additional bones have been provided.
As I am working my way up to doing facial mocap I will be interested in seeing how this issue gets resolved. Thanks for posting this problem and maybe using G2F will help.

Yes but only Genesis 3 has facial bones
I do use Genesis quite well for body motions but liked the fact I can get iclone facial puppet animation in this way,
I can then use it on HD morphed figures in Octane and Iray in close ups, iClone FBX imports via 3DXchange are not HD
is about the only use I have for G3F and male, I use older figures otherwise
it works but all those damned boxes to tick each time getting old fast !!!!
Bringing this up again as people using facial mocap probably want this feature too.
