help with v7 paramters

I just moved from v4/m4 to v7 and this is my first using any Genisis figures.

I noticed if select the root of the figure I see all parameters for the figure for morphs. However if select an individual body part specific to those morphs I they no longer become visible. for instance I can move V7 toes by selecting the root body and adjusting those parameters, but if I click the toes, zoom in and try to do precision work I need to click back on the body to get those morphs. Is this behavior by design or not how it's supposed to work because it seems like an extra step (no pun intended) when I need to make these adjustments.

The Genesis figures are single-skin weight-mapped, which means that the geometry belongs to the figure not the bones and so do morphs. You can always reselect the figure by double-clicking with a selection tool, though a lot of posing controls (such as the fingers and I think the toes) are duplicated on a logical bone - the hands for fingers, the feet for toes, the head for expressions and head/neck bends.

If you use the Shaping pane all properly defined shaping morphs are available whether the figure is select or a body part of it.

  • I think, if i'm guessing correctly, is that you are wanting to modify the toes, without modifying the rest of the body?

Kinda like we are are able to do with the version 4 characters, where you can modify the toe shape(amazon toes on a sylph body) for instance, unfortunately genesis figures don't work that way.

Even with access to the morph dials under the shaping tab, the morph dial(s) present are an overall dial and not a part specific dial.
