Iray shaders and Mip mapping...?

Some folks might know that ParticleFX has been in the works for a few years now...
In order to finalize the beta I need to know how to make Iray shaders that are image based ...The mip mapping I can do later...
I have searched and nothing...

I think DS does it's own internal mip mapping?
AFAIK it's only with 3Delight, your textures are converted into the .TDL format, which is a mip mapped TIF format, the further from the camera the item is the further down the mips 3Delight is meant to go.
I see some nice Iray shaders that are image based...
What I am in need of is turning my Images into IRAY shaders...
Looking for a Tutorial that will show me how...
