Mesh layers go through (rigging and weight mapping)

I have set down my rigging and base weightmaps, but I run into a problem. After I bend my prop, with a part that has 3 layers of mesh, those parts go through eachother after bending. I tried bulge maps and ghost bones, all without succes. It's has general weightmapping (no TRIAX). I'm hoping for someone with a bit more experience to chime in on a solution :) Thanks in advance for your time!

You probably need to edit the weight maps a bit more, though it's possible that fixing this will require a JCM (a morph that is linked to the bend that causes the problem).
I am thinking the same, it's the only thing I can think of as of now. Thanks Richard!
