Is there a select and drop figure option?

Maybe this has already been something you can do for ages now or not but is there a way to select a character or anything for that matter and then select the location in your scene where you would like them to go? I find its tedious sometimes having to move around things using the normal movement dials. A click and drop method would work wonders here. Is there one?
