How do I save out a Dome-only Iray lighting preset?

I'm playing with the tiff files for some old, 3Delight light sets that were in the freebie pile recently. I get nice results by plugging the tifs into the environment map under the render settings tab, but DS won't let me save them out as a light preset because there's no spotlight, distant light, etc in the scene. Clearly there's some way of doing this, because I own a bunch of DimensionTheory Iray presets that are pure environment lights, but I don't know how.
