Hair usually works pretty well across generations, have you tried fitting/parenting the G3F version of the hair to a G8F?

All G3F hair already fits G8F. Just change the scene identification. Preferred base needs to be Genesis 8 Female.

Don't autofit it, change the compatibility parameters on the hair so that DS believes it was made for G8F too.
