Well, yeah, I love it for Genesis 3. It rocks!

I am curious if anyone has found a good solution like that one for Genesis 8 models?

What @scorpio said... I use Super Natural Brows on all of my Genesis 8 figures. For materials that don't have an eyebrow free version, I use "Brow Remover for Daz Studio," which supports Genesis 8 (https://www.daz3d.com/brow-remover-for-daz-studio).

They're not the same, if you use the Natural Brow that we're talking about you'll know why. As much as I love Redz products, this is far superior in terms of flexibility and realism.

These and the peach fuzz for G3 are two of my most favourite products ever created.

I have a feeling it might be something to do with scripting or changing file names to get it to work with G8, both of which I never really mess around with...

I realise they are not the same but it is an alternative and to be honest looking at the Real Eyebrows product I'm not all that impressed the eyebrows look rather sparse and thin, all of them look well groomed nothing natural, also they only appear to be for the females.

But really its a matter of choice.

That's because you're going off of the promos, but these brows allow you to create your own brow shape, change the length, thickness. It's an incredible product that is definitely good for men and women. But like I said you wouldn't know unless you tried it.

Since the 'Real Eyebrows' are for Genesis 3 they should, as a material preset, apply just fine to Genesis 8.

I tried it to help someone convert it to G8, and I was also unimpressed. I returned it immediately. The way the edges of the brows are clipped off is too sharp; to me it looks like a section of very even straight hairs cut off by a stencil.

They don't because of how weirdly complicated it's set up. It's not a materials preset. IIRC though, you can set up the brows on G3, then change scene identification and fit them to G8.

Yes I am the promos are what are suppose to show me what the product does, to me it doesn't look at all versatile. And using plucked female brows on males may work in some situations but not most.

If you find the product is not versatile, I suggest you are not using it correctly. All of the styles below were creating using this product.

If you find fibremesh looks too blunt, I suggest adding subdivision and maybe a smoothing modifier. Also, removing the limits to how far you can lengthen or rotate things gives you many, many more options.

I don't have the product my opinion of the product was based on the promos which as I stated is suppose to be the vendors way of getting across the product uses.

I'm glad you are so satisfied with the product I gave the Super Natural Brows links simple as an altenatives.

You seem as if you want an argument about it, its a matter of preference and choice what people prefer personally I am more than happy with Super Natural Brows.

I'll leave this thread now as you seem determined to have a this vs that flame war.

  • This is a nice product once I was able to get it working correctly.  I would like this for G8 as well.  But there are other options for G8 brows and that's a good thing.

Consider Marigold (Character). She comes with the best eyebrow set (fibermesh) I've ever seen on a DAZ model!

The Super Natural Brow does really seem like a great alternative for G8, I am totally going to give it a try. I actually only setup characters and poses inside Daz and then have my own skin shader and other things setup inside of C4D and render in Octane. So this might be the way to go for me.

    Thanks All!

I own this product but never used it much. I didn't know you could get eyebrows like those out of it! Very nice :)

    Trish

    Thanks those are quite nice.

  • Speaking of Real Eyebrows, I bought it recently but couldn't get custom brows function to work (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/214466/real-eyebrows-for-genesis-3-females-can-t-make-custom-brows#latest).

Anyone else having this problem/has used it lately?

There was another user with a blocking problem recently. Did you isntall with Connect or DIM?

  • DIM; also tried manual install.

I did; just wanted to see if others were experiencing the same thing recently, or, if it still worked for them such that I could potentially figure out what's wrong. Tech support just gave me the "we'll let you know" thing with no ETA, so I was trying some more self-help.

The way I do it, is to use the geometry editor on the brow, you can start with any style. Then you select all hidden geometry and make it visible. Then using the geometry editor tool, you select the hair you want to hide and asign them to the hidden material preset, or make your own.

So you don't use the script at all, then. That makes sense. Thanks for sharing this; I'll have to try it.

By the way, the renders of the brows you've made--just breathtaking!!

  • Just did as you said:

    • Use geometry editor
    • Right click and select all hidden, add to default group to unhide everything
    • Unparent from G3F and "fit to" G8F
    • Select Real Eyebrows and save as Support Asset > Figure/Prop Assets, choosing compatibility base and compatible with G8F

Now I can just load that new asset on my G8F and pluck accordingly!

As a scripter, to determine the character base of a figure loaded in a Scene I test against its internal name, "Genesis2Female", "Genesis3Female", "Genesis8Female", etc.

So, you might wanna try this script to temporarily change character's identity and see if you make it work on G8 figures.

    (function () {    var node = Scene.getPrimarySelection();    if (!node) {        MessageBox.critical("Please select a figure before running this script!", "Ups!", "&OK");        return;    }    node.name = "Genesis3Female";    MessageBox.information("Done deal!\n\nDon't forget to restore figure's name for DAZ Studio's sanity.", "Ups!", "&OK");    //node.name = "Genesis8Female";})();

im very surprised that nobody has made a real eyebrows tool for Genesis 8 yet.

almost makes me want to make one myself.

has anyone found a decent way to work in real eyebrows yet for G8?

@Karuki, Wow, I would never have guessed that anyone could get those kind of results from that product. On the aliens you made, the eyebrows look like geometry!

And by the way, where can I follow your signature fashion model? Also, what head covering is that you have on her?, because I thought I had them all, and that one has thickness to it.
