Lost in the Meta-Jungle...why aren't my shaders available?

So I have this bar that I would like to give a makeover to update it. I do believe it was made for Posesr but it said it should work in Daz as well, and it seems to. Anyway, I bought this shader set to help me spruce the place up a bit.  https://www.daz3d.com/wood-collection-merchant-resource-vol2-pbr-textures

I found where the files installed by looking in DIM (pic1) and went to said folder in Daz (pic2) and as you can see, the folder are there but alas, no shaders. Does anyone one have any clue where this stuff might have gone this time? I don't know the ins and outs of MetaData or what it's like creating products but boy would it be nice if there was a way Daz could say "This is where we put characters, this is where we put props." Would save sooo much time and frustration.

Unless of course this is something I did wrong, in which case I'll shut it.

PS---I installed using DIM and and trying to render in Iray, in case those things help to know.

Thanks for anyones help this time too.

  • That's not a shader set, it's a texture resource set. You have to plug in the maps yourself if you want to use them directly.

From what I recall of the producct (I don't have it) is that it contains all (or most?) of the maps you'd need to set up a surface, but it does not contain an actual shader, script, etc., that will do it for you.  What you will need to do is apply your base shader (Iray Uber, or whatver you'd wat to use), identify and selct the relevant setting and apply teh correct map to that until they have all been used, or at least as many as you'd want to use.

    Hmmm...so what you're saying is...return it? :D

I'm sorry, that's a little above my skill level. I just really wanted to update the bar. I'm sure it's a fine product but I think it was meant for people other than me. (Get's on my tricycle and rides away as fast as i can)

Yes, if you are not comfortable making shader settings yourself, return it. You can always purchase again.
