glowing object

what to do to make the object shine like a like a light bulb.

I do not care to emit light just to make it look like it's glowing. 

in irya is not a problem but what to do in the usual 3D light renderer

    Just go to the surface tab and scroll down to ambient, set color to other than black and set strength to 100%.
