A slightly left field suggestion, but for the bathtub, how about the oval horse trough from Equestrian Props with a suitable shader applied to it? The cloth liner is then easy to produce with dforce and a plane primitive.

I never thought of that. If I could find a trough, that might work.
Use scaling to reduce it's height and stretch it into more of an oval shape, and you have something like what you're looking for (and for free too!). As before, make the cloth with a dforced plane.
Another idea - build the bath from scratch using Everyday Morphing Primitives. The oval one looks fairly straightforward to do, and the cloth will cover a lot of the (missing) detail anyway.

Another suggestion - the Japanese bathtub from this freebie: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/japanese-private-bath-2/72095

Do you know what the purpose of the cloth lining was? I've seen it in paintings, but I've never known why it was used.
