within the metaball modeler, it is possible to duplicate a selected metaball with symmetry. Is it possible to edit a selected metaball with symmetry (move a selection around and have its mirror also move)?

    HI All :)

You can "Duplicate with symmetry" and that will work on a single meta-ball,. or a bunch of selected meta-ball's.

You can hold SHIFT and select a couple,.. or several meta-balls,.. and then you can move them as one selection,
but I don't think there is any option to select one meta-ball and have the symmetrical "opposite" meta-ball auto-select and move along with it.

Once you create the Symmetrical duplicate,. it's treated as a new meta-ball, there's no persistent "symmetry" applied to that duplicate.

The symmetry options in the Meta-ball modeller,. are like the assembly room,
you select the basic direction of symmetry, using the little "Grid" icon in the tool-bar, click the "grid wall" you want to act as the symmetry axis.

you may need to reposition your original meta-ball creation in the scene, before you use "Duplicate with Symmetry" to get the symmetrical duplicate in the correct position, although you could also duplicate,.. then select,.. and move,

There's no "model with symmetry", or an adjustable Symmetry plane, like the vertex modeller has,..
just the ability to duplicate with symmetry

    Hope it helps :)

    Yes! Yes, he does.

Thanks for the replies. Not a big deal, but would have been convenient for making small changes without having to do another delete/duplication.
