Content pane: horizontal instead of vertical?

Hi there,

i'm set up with the city limits layout, in darkside style, like below (pane is undocked on a second screen)
now since i have so much horizontal space, i'd like the items to expand horizontally (each sublevel another column), like i'm used to in another layout, instead of vertically, the way it is here in the screenshot. i can't get it to work here. anybody know?

At the extreme right of your image, just below the 'X', click on the little horizontal bars to get the drop-down menu. Change the setting to 'View as List instead of 'View as Tree.'

Actually that's View Side-by-side - both list and tree views are vertical.

View as List is Horizontal in my version, Side by Side is Vertical as is Tree view?

tree and side by side seem to be the same for me too

It depends what you are meaning - in Tree the list is above the content, in Side-by-side it is beside the content (which is what the screenshot showed, and what I though was meant by horizontal versus vertical).
