today's whine groan bitch
why doe EVERYTHING I buy these days load in DAZ studio with AoA SSS and countless other DAZ procedurals
apply DZ default often mucks up opacity etc so not a solution
all nice if using 3Delight to render but some of us use export to go to another app or use Octane, Reality, Luxus etc

I noticed that too. I'm used to the other way around. Basic textures on load w/ preset options for SSS if desired.
What you can do, is set up a shader you like and save it as a texture preset. From there, CTRL+Double click on it to apply just the shader/settings w/o affecting the current maps. I've done that quite a bit to characters without SSS presets at all (I use that method to copy another character's SSS shader to the current character).
