Akamai NetSession Interface Console

I have an icon in Control Panel Windows 7 for this. I checked and it installed on 4/8/2015. Seems to be harmless but I would like to know how did it got there. Other than DAZ software I have installed recently a bunch of Iclone software, close to that date. Anyone familiar with this thing? Don't want to uninstall it and cripple something. My computer is working fine so I've decided to let it alone for now. I run anti-virus and anti-malware continuously and they had never detected anything.

    Do you use Netflix or any other type of video/audio streaming service? A few years ago it used to come packaged with Adobe Flash updates, but that may no longer be the case as I don't have it on my machine, and I keep flash up to date.

    my facebook photo links all have akamai net in url so assume a flash thing, it is in my adobe flash files seaching my computer and disabled in startup
