Specular and Glossiness - Help needed

I have a structured Object with increases and wells - no bump map, no displacement map no specular map. As I now you can create a glossy look to the increases alone with the values of specular glossiness and specular strenght. I can do what I want the object always looks dull one time lighter one time darker but the increases are not highlighted by glossiness. Can someone have an idea?
No SSS and no Iray. Just simple 3Delight. If I do not use SSS has the spcular glossiness and strenght 2 any influence?

If I create a bump map for example I can get some shine effects but the thing is I have no template for this object so I can`t create a fitting map, same on the specular map.
Is this something you can post images of?
There are many ways to get a template - I think the free UV Mapper Classic iss till around, Blender will do it, you can see the layout in the UV View in DS (but not export it).
