Free Pro Lighting Tips for Portraits in the Real World

Here's a great reference - a poster showing lighting setups for portraits from Digital Camera World. You can probably figure out how to do this in DAZ Studio and especially now with Iray.

This is a good reference, though a few of them -- like 'Loop with a Rim Light' borderline on the silly (you don't put the rim light directly in back to shine through the ears, unless you're doing a vampire movie poster, or something).

As an aside, remember that all these portraiture setups rely on the backdrop for reflected light. You'll need something for an environment. A gray-toned HDRi suffices for studio ambient light, and you can use a backdrop prop if you'd like.
