Daz Studio Colorize

Daz Studio Colorize

The Colorize feature is a handy tool that lets you easily change the color of select items in your scene from the surface pane in Daz Studio. Choose any color and create customizable clothing, hair, and more. While this feature isn’t available with every Daz store item, the “custom” label will help you denote which items in your library can be altered with this cool setting. See some select choices here and if you need a video tutorial, check out our Youtube. Now, let’s walk through how it works!

Let’s walk through how it works:

  1. Select Your Asset: First, choose the item you want to customize, such as an outfit or a character’s hair.
  2. Access Material Settings: Double-click on the selected item to access its material settings. You’ll notice a section labeled “Custom” with a white appearance.
  3. Colorize: Inside the surface pane, locate the “Colorize” option. This is where the magic happens! By selecting this option, you can now adjust the base color of the item using the color picker.
  4. Preview Changes: As you change the color, you’ll notice that certain elements remain unchanged while other parts adopt the new color. This allows for dynamic and creative customization. Different items will change color in different areas.
  5. Fine-Tune: Want to tweak the color further? You can adjust additional settings like translucency to add depth and richness to the color.
  6. Apply Across Scenes: Colorize isn’t limited to just one item. You can use it across multiple elements in your scene, ensuring consistency and creativity throughout.
  7. Experiment and Customize: Whether you’re going for a bold new look or subtle variations, Colorize lets you experiment with different hues and tones until you achieve the perfect result.

Playing with this setting will give you the power to personalize your creations like never before, adding a whole new level of flexibility and customization to your projects. Start exploring and see where your creativity takes you!
